7mm prc

I have a Tikka Roughtech 7 PRC and am just breaking it in. I have a muzzle brake on it (doubles as a suppressor mount) and I have been shooting it unsuppressed. Getting it zeroed and giving the barrel some exercise. Ended the day with a 3 shot 3/4 inch group exactly on the bullseye at 100 yards. So far, I like the rifle but truth be told, the 6.5 PRC is more comfortable to shoot and will accomplish pretty much all the same things as the 7 PRC in the real world.

What ammo is it liking?

The box I grabbed to finish the zeroing process was 155 grain that clocked at just short of 3,000 fps. I mostly shoot 175 grain Federal Fusion loads and will reconfirm zero with the Federal ammo as that will be my go to ammo if it does shoot well.

I have been disappointed with the velocities I have been seeing with the 7 PRC. I know that is not news as everyone has commented on the apparent fact that the current Hornady loads are 200 fps slow compared to the claims on the ammo boxes. That is why I have been using Federal more often as it seems to yield velocities closer to advertised.
