I finished zeroing the Tikka 7 PRC yesterday and was getting 3/4 inch groups smack on the bullseye at 100 yards when I took my time. I am finding that the new fangled way of gripping with the shooting thumb not around the grip, but instead, resting on the shooting hand side of the stock, really does help.
I’d take 3/4” all day. Especially if you’re using factory ammo. Muzzle break or suppressor?

The Tikka Roughtech stock is supposed to be an improvement over the regular Tikka factory stock and I believe it is. However, I have a Bergara Premier barreled action in 6.5 PRC that I dropped into an MDT CRBN stock and I just really like that stock. I like the adjustable comb and butt pad. I like the thumb rest on the shooting hand side of the grip. I like its very light weight and its stiffness. And I like that it is foam filled so there is no cheap hollow sound to the stock. So I dumped the money on one for my Tikka too. It is back ordered of course but I decided to do it anyway in part because I have been so pleased with the Tikka 7 PRC so far that I decided to give it some more love.

On the Tikka 7 PRC I have been shooting it with a Q Cherry Bastard muzzle brake. It is only a single port brake but it doubles as a Plan B suppressor mount. I will screw on a suppressor (Trash Panda) today and see how it shoots suppressed with 175 grain Federal Fusion loads.

I recently purchased a Kestrel 5700 Elite and I am still in the process of learning how to use it but I think I have it pretty well figured out. I live in a very rural area of central Arizona and I have steel targets set all the way out to 800 yards on my property. My goal with the 7 PRC is to learn how to smack those steel targets with some consistency and for that I also have to learn how to correctly dial my scopes. It's a process but I am enjoying it and I am making progress.
