I greatly regret not buying some Big Game the only time I have ever seen it on a shelf.@Pharmseller has killer recipes with Big Game for the 150 ELDX. He's piled up a couple truckloads with whitetails and elk from several rifles with this combo.

Even the M+ magazine is an improvement in the TikkaThis is a valid concern if you don't have a Tikka. My OAL with the 162 is 2.925. For Tikka a quick bolt stop change and L mag and you're in business, easy peasy.
Stay away from bone and you should be fine.I just won a Winchester XPR in 7mm-08. I have previously shot and killed many deer with my S&W 1500 in 30-06. I have been very happy with the results of IMR 4064 or Varget propelling a 165gr SST…. Now reading this thread, I don’t see much love for SST’s. I was planning on working up a load for this gun using 139gr SST’s. I have already bought the SST’s… have I made a mistake? I have a couple of new to me 308’s too. A CZ 557 Ranger and a Vanguard… both shoot nice groups with 165gr SST’s but have not had a chance to kill anything yet. Wife shoots a T3 in 30-06… also has had good results with the 165gr SST. All of our kills have been one shot pass throughs. Will the higher velocities of the 7mm-08 cause issues with my bullet choice for deer?
Don’t fix it if it isn’t broken. If you’re confident and like the performance of the SST, then go for it. The velocity increase will have no negative impact, and should give you a little extra range. Keep the minimum velocity around 1800-1900 and plan max distance accordingly.I just won a Winchester XPR in 7mm-08. I have previously shot and killed many deer with my S&W 1500 in 30-06.
