Probably a Hornady InterbondYes, you’re right I’m having a brain fart at the moment with these two bullets. I was thinking of other bullets and my brain kept telling me eldx.
Also, to be completely honest. I don’t remember the bullets I’m trying to remember. I was knocked for a loop last July by a bull I was unloading for slaughter and since then there are some things that have been lost. Fractured elbow, staples in my head, and dang good concussion. It has affected my memory some regrettably. So, if anyone knows what bullets I might be thinking of I would appreciate it.
Ive been shooting my 155 Terminal Ascent out of a 16.5" barrel at about 2650. Its taken multiple elk, deer and Antelope. I have some 150 ABLR just haven't had time to develop a load for them.
That's how I do it too. 140 Ballistic Tip and Accubonds. Don't change anything but the bullet when loading.This.....the easy button.
Staball 6.5 in peterson brass. If i recall it is 47 grains (not 100% without checking). What kind of powder? Seems fast for a 16”

So for 140 Accubond with Big Game in a 7-08 what’s a good starting point for how much? Start @ 47 gr? Preference on primer?
My load is max (right out of Nosler’s manual) so work up:
140 AB
47.5 gr BG
Winchester Large Rifle Magnum
I use R-P brass because there was a lot of it a dozen years ago.
2850 fps, 22.4” barrel, so subtract 25 fps or so per inch.
You can substitute the 140 Partition if you want, the recipe is the same.

How come the magnum primer?

BG is a ball powder. Some ball powders perform better with the hotter ignition provided by a magnum primer.
Not necessary by any means, but a little bit better is a little bit better.

In my opinion
140’s are the way to go
I have great luck with accubonds
Anyone of you used 154 Interlocks on elk out of 7mm-08, if yes how does it perform say up to 30 yards? The 150 accubond isn't required with the performance of the 150 nbt in the 7mm08 in my opinion. If you were after elk/moose and expected shots sub 100 yards I can appreciate them more but the nbt is cheaper and kills well.
The 150ish grain cup and cores really shine in the 7mm08 and the 154 interlock is another often overlooked option that has been stacking game for friends and family since the 7mm08 was a wildcat.
With all that said if someone wanted to give me 150 accubonds I'd happily use them and not loose any sleep.
No elk but a couple moose.Anyone of you used 154 Interlocks on elk out of 7mm-08, if yes how does it perform say up to 30 yards?
also four doe's in north carolina is legal.accubonds out of my 300 weatherby magnum. this is my elk deer moose coyote lol gun. it's my all around gun is what i am saying. velocity is 3250 and energy is 4221 so i cant say for a 7mm-08. i got it in 2022 as a "elk" (but really i got mad at my 243 win because i didn't find 2 doe's shot at and hit one had three drops of blood and the other none) gun in case i ever got a wild hair to go elk hunting but i used it for deer in the 2023 season i got four 100 pound whitetail doe's not that big but they did what i wanted all four had good expansion didn't lose more meat than the deer i shot with a 270 win. if you do your job this bullet will do it's.
