I don’t have sufficient privileges to reply to the existing thread so here’s my 30-06 peak next to my 30-06 hunter.
It came in yesterday. After slapping it all together we ran to the range to test it with the 180gr BXS load that my hunter loves. She is stacking them well. We were in a rush so I didn’t have time to shoot 5rd groups, but it was shooting small trios and pairs while I made adjustments.
Initial impressions are mostly good. The internal mag holds 5rds of 30-06. Accuracy is very promising. The weight is not too light. The not so good include the gritty action which hopefully smooths out with time as well as the extra stiff pad, which wouldn’t matter on some, but on 30-06, it’s a little jarring. My 300wm peak arrives tomorrow. If it has the same pad, it will require some fitting. I wish they had used the same pad they put on the hunters.
