Has anyone tried Staball6.5 in a 7 SAUM?
If so what kind of specs of rifle/load and results? Specifically curious of primers. I’ve heard but never tested much in ball poweders but have heard it referenced in some other places that they can sometimes benefit from a magnum primer.
Im work with a new saum with 20” barrel, 8.5”twist and 0.090” freebore. Just ran first 44rnds through shooting 150gr ELD-X’s and H4831SC and 210M primers out of normal cases. Looking like a good node will be around 61.1-61.4gr. Was 2870ish fps @61.1gr.
I’m going to like stay with the 150-160class of bullet and was thinking 2900fps would be expected goal with the 150eld’s. Initial testing seems like I shouldn’t have a problem once all said and done with the 4831sc.
But since I also have almost 8lbs of Staball 6.5 and another saum with longer barrel that handles the 180 with the 4831SC I just figured I’d throw the question out there as I am not the type to leave well enough alone.
