7 points in Wy and Co

Agree with others, CO. I was in a similar situation last year with 9 in both. Burned the CO points last year, not in a big hurry to burn WY.

I don't understand the phrase "burning points". When you burn something it typically is ruined/wasted. You are using your points to hunt. Go enjoy your hunt.

There are a bunch of fun deer hunts to be had in Colorado with 7pp. Just depends on the type of hunt you want

You burn points the same way you run gear

I wouldn't wait too long on Wyoming, things are not getting better for mule deer - well maybe some areas.

I used my Wyoming points (I think it was 6) this year for a region I know fairly well. The hunting season forecast that the state put out looks pretty grim for mule deer in every region, being below objective and relatively poor recruitment due to winters and drought. That said, when I was there for antelope in 2023 the state’s advice sounded similar but I saw plenty of antelope and deer; the problem seems to be getting worse rather than better though.

Tough to find a good area in WY as a Non Res to use 7 pts. Thats what I have now too. Hate to use them on a 2-3pt area and it sucks to wait and see whats available when i have 10-11 pts. Be easier if i could get out there and check out areas during season in advance, you know, like a resident. lol

I have to say our area is not looking bleak but not aggressively rebounding either.
Another decent winter but more Summer moisture just might help quite bit.
Our fawn crop looks pretty good this year.

Stagger those trip out to get a better lay of the land and numbers maybe. I do agree, we def. have an advantage as residents.

I’ve got 11 or more in Wyoming with no real idea how I want to use them. Wish I had a few years back in a western region before the last bad winter kill
