7-08 118 grain hht hammer powder

Moving from an 139 sst to this bullet. Any recommendations on powder? We were previously using imr 4350 but my thoughts are that may be too slow?

Varget is slow. TAC and Power Pro 2000-MR

I ran lots of combinations of the 708 and Hammers when I had mine.

For the 119AH I did better with TAC, but the 118 I got about the same velocity with Varget, with better ES and temp stability.

I have a couple friends using the 118HT in their 7mm-08s and they are both using Varget. Several elk have fallen to that combo this year. It doesn’t get 100% powder burn easily in short barrels if that bothers you.
