The 6 & 6.5 PRC are basically ballistic twins to the 6 & 6.5-284. The PRC needs a mag bolt face where as the 6-284 uses a standard bolt face but the PRC works better in a short action and the 6-284 needs an extended mag box to get the most out of it if used in a short action.Anybody shooting 6PRC? Thoughts on it vs 6UM? I know 6UM is pushed hard on here, why it over 6PRC?
Ryan, what happens if a guy necks down a 7 PRC to 6mm? Too much pressure? Just a thought I’ve had for brass availabilityThe 6UM was designed to get the most out of an SA 6MM case.
The 6UM is 100+ FPS faster than the 6PRC.
The most significant advantage of the 6PRC is brass availability
Too much pressure comes from too much powder!Ryan, what happens if a guy necks down a 7 PRC to 6mm? Too much pressure? Just a thought I’ve had for brass availability

Do you know why the should went to the improved instead of just a straight neck down? Does it create slightly more case capacity? The 6UM is a necked down and "improved" SAUM case so the 6UM will have more case capacity and shoot the same bullet/s faster then the 6 PRC.
From what I can see, the new ADG 6 UM 40 degree brass and 40 degree reamer would actually be the best easy button for big 6mm now. No necking down, no fire forming and no special dies.Interested in a 6UM or 6PRC and wanting to know if the juice is worth the squeeze or is 6PRC easy button just the better route to go?
I had my numbers backwards then I guess? The UM is the 40 degree? So the 30 wouldn’t need to be formed. But they’re selling a reamer for that as well. So it’s a simple load and shoot. Brass matches the reamer. As far as I see there is no 6UM-40 available, only the 6UM-30 that has to be fire formed.

Is the UM-30 just a 6 SAUM? Correct me if I'm swinging like a blind man.I had my numbers backwards then I guess? The UM is the 40 degree? So the 30 wouldn’t need to be formed. But they’re selling a reamer for that as well. So it’s a simple load and shoot. Brass matches the reamer.
As far as I’ve gathered anyways. Thank you for the correction!
Yes, it’s just a 6 SAUM.Is the UM-30 just a 6 SAUM? Correct me if I'm swinging like a blind man.
I do remember hearing a podcast with the ADG guys and there is something about the 40 degree shoulder and body diameter or neck diameter that doesn't jive
How about just a custom .240 Weatherby or a 6mm-06?Anybody shooting 6PRC? Thoughts on it vs 6UM? I know 6UM is pushed hard on here, why it over 6PRC?
Isn't it produced by Norma? In any case, I hear you about the belt, less efficiency etc...but it's worked for decades and ammo is readily availableWBY brass is less than desirable.
I've also read some of it's Peterson. So who knows.Isn't it produced by Norma? In any case, I hear you about the belt, less efficiency etc...but it's worked for decades and ammo is readily available
