6mm prc

Call Unknown Munitions in Idaho. They MIGHT make you some ammo, but doubtful since they had ZERO data on the cartridge before wildcatting a load for mine to function test before shipping. They had 115gr DTACs running 3250 from my 24" 7.5 twist with N570. They've probably built more since, but they still use that same load.

Anyone know of a company selling ammo for 6PRC?
LS Wild is about ready to get our manufacturing FFL. Interview with ATF is next week.

One of my first thoughts is building a turnkey 6 PRC system off a Tikka and/or custom action like Solus/Origin. Not a full custom, but semi custom assembling a rifle. We’ll also just sell the prefit barrels. The other cartridge would be a 22 Creedmoor.

We’re not going to be making any metal chips, so the cost will be an assembled rifle for about the cost to assemble the parts yourself.

I will work out brass, bullets, loads, etc. And, we would eventually include loaded ammo for it.

Is this a dumb idea? Or, would a handful of people be in for it?

I wouldn't need the turn key solution like that, as I already have a 6 PRC that I love. But sometimes I just don't have time to hand load, so I'd for sure be interested in loaded ammo. The key would be loading the ammo to fit with any freebore.

I recommend the 6prc to tons of people but the lack of a factory rifle in it is a hard sell, so having someone make a turn key solution would be nice.

I know a few people who would be interested in something like that, as would I. The 6PRC ammo would let people who don’t hand load get into a wildcat.

With 6UM 30° shoulder headstamped brass being produced it seems like the easy button. Can buy loaded ammo from UM for $225/50ct and get it reloaded for $175/50ct

115gr dtac 20" barrel averaging 3,190fps. 100fps slower than the 40° shoulder using 2gr less powder

My 20in ace is about 100fps slower than previous 6um 30 data posted 65-65.5gr showing ejector and bolt lift at 65.5 velocity of 3180. Not too happy, my 24in 6saum is over 300fps faster, and there was no psi found. It wants to shoot at 3100. I'll retest with non coated dtacs and see what happens.
