I’m a certified rem 700 hater and every clone. Terrible field action, unreliable trigger design, and 90 degree bolt throw.Wait if you want a Tikka, if it appears you will have no regrets. You can always buy a Ruger.
Bergara for a little more?
You can pick up a used action and a prefit with barrel nut and be around the $800 mark if you wait for sales on barrels.
A 22 ARC would be a sweet choice for your arsenal.
My lgs priced me a threaded stainless lite in whichever 6.5 I end up with for 799For the blued model, yes. Stainless steel will be around $910 retail.

With the 147 ELDM the PRC is another 200 yards further to 1800fps than the Creedmoor. For my guns you are 900/700 yards @ 2000' DA and 1010/800 yards @ 6000' DA. I have multiple rifles in both cartridges. Neither is wrong but the PRC carries velocity further. Depends on your needs. If you need the distance, PRC.My lgs priced me a threaded stainless lite in whichever 6.5 I end up with for 799♂ that is with a military discount though. Can’t decide between prc or creed.
I went with the prc simply because I knew I would chop the barrel down immediately and throw on a suppressor. The PRC gets me all the range I’ll ever need and I can use it anywhere. But if you never shoot game beyond 4/500 then you really don’t need it. And can chop it down and still have plenty of velocity. With the 147 ELDM the PRC is another 200 yards further to 1800fps than the Creedmoor. This.Unless you’ve got sentimental rifles or classic collector thing going on, you don’t need 6+ standard bolt face, ho hum hunting rifles. 2 that are nicer and exactly what you want, that you’ll shoot the piss out of, is mo better.
Maybe going a little dif direction with that one but if you can’t afford what you really want but you already got 5 bolt rifles.. sell or rebarrel something.
I agree. Tbh I think I could get by with a 6mm arc and a 6mm creedmoor for every style of hunting I do. Whitetail are not hard to kill and I spend most of my time smoking coyotes. Most of the rifles I have do have some sentimental value.Unless you’ve got sentimental rifles or classic collector thing going on, you don’t need 6+ standard bolt face, ho hum hunting rifles. 2 that are nicer and exactly what you want, that you’ll shoot the piss out of, is mo better.

The reality is every North American hunter falls into this same category, they just dont know it. Good on you for realizing it.Tbh I think I could get by with a 6mm arc and a 6mm creedmoor for every style of hunting I do.
Kind of where I’m at with the .223 and 22 Creed combo the last year or so.I agree. Tbh I think I could get by with a 6mm arc and a 6mm creedmoor for every style of hunting I do. Rebarrel one of the 308 or 3006 to and the 308 is a CRF model 7
Spent years shooting whitetail with 30-06, developed a flinch, missed a few deer at extended ranges (300 yards). Last year I didn’t have the confidence in myself to shoot a deer at 450, so my thinking is this year I’ll grab a light recoiling round and practice my butt for the next year or 2. Reading the 6mm/243 forum has really changed my mind on match ammo and smaller cartridges. I wouldn’t hesitate to shoot an elk with a 6mm creed now at comfortable hunting ranges for myself. The reality is every North American hunter falls into this same category, they just dont know it.
