I hated on the 6 arc ever since coming out. Found 2 proof 18" stainless barrels at my local dealer for a steal. Started looking into it further and ended up buying both. Sold one to a buddy. I'm hooked and plan on building a 14.5-16 for thermal use. So easy to load for and factory ammo everywhere. Compress_20241025_003601_1336.jpgFirst group 10 rounds in with 95 SMK blems. A mild load of varget approximately 2600 fps.Compress_20241025_003602_2359.jpg
Took it out on some steel with the same load 5 rds @411 yards. Should have bought all the 95 SMK blems at $14/100.Compress_20241025_003602_2128.jpg
95 berger classic hunter. Not the best BCs but do they shoot. 5rd groups @100 30 grains of lever @ 2725 fps 9.6 SD and 30.2 grains of lever @ 2772 fps 14.6 SD 20 thousands off. Im at 120 rounds thus far and I don't believe it's speed up all the way.Compress_20241025_003601_1888.jpgCompress_20241025_003601_1620.jpg
My buddy's shoots just as good. I'm hooked and this cartridge is just plain fun to shoot and load for. I did shoot some 75 grain vmax with AR Comp with a top load I was getting just over 3000 fps and my buddy ran some 58 vmax with benchmark at 3200 fps ( I dont have my notes in front of me ). 105 hybrids up next.

I bought a lb of Leverevolution. Might as well try it with some 103 ELDX. Might pick up 150 FPS over my current load which helps with bullet drop in a hunting scenario.

If I hit 2800 FPS out of my 22” Howa with ~ 1 MOA accuracy, I’ll call it good for a hunting load.

For those with experience, estimating and hoping to get 2550-2600fps out of a 16” AR with factory Hornady 108M. From what I’ve read here, seems reasonable? Considering a Howa or Tikka build in the same barrel length. Would be 1800fps out to 500yrds locally.

It seems possible but likely barrel dependent. Mine is sitting around 2538 with a brand new barrel. I’m expecting it to speed up though. At my elevation (400’) my velocities in my 16” get me just past 500 yards.

Adding another range session with the 16” proof barrel. Overall velocities were down 30-40fps across the board from the last range trip. Not sure why. Even when considering small sample sizes, every group was slower than last trip. Aside from the range being ~10-15 degrees cooler and changing brakes between range trips (lantac dragon asr is too long for sico scythe btw, the brake touches the first baffle) no other changes were made. Using the same lot #’s as the previous trip, but different boxes.

Looking at today’s session vs last session, this session averaged 2588 (with 1 shot over 2600) and last session averaged 2615 (with no shots under 2600) with the eldx.

New Bear Creek 16” barrel in AR side charge upper. 108 ELDM factory. Shots 1-7 over the LabRadar averaged 2480 fps and my drops seemed to line up well to 571 yards.

I shot the 103 ELDx as well and agree accuracy was similar but didn’t put that velocity in my app because the 108 shot so well.
What are your 3 round, 5 round, and 10 round group sizes?

I’ve only shot a 5 round and then checked zero a few times and the zero check fell in the bull so I called it good. Used the 6 ARC Sunday to shoot a whitetail buck.
5 shot group, as shots 2-6 on the barrel, adjusted and shot the one in the diamond bull as shot 7. Took it to distance after that, I believe 3 distances the furthest being 540 or 560.

I’ll get some higher round groups over the winter but at this point it’s been very consistent, predictable and hits what I shoot at. Those rifles are hard to find and I’m still less than 2 boxes of factory ammo run through it
