Another 6 creed 108 eldm data point. No pictures this time tho.
- 100 yd shot on a 1.5 year old whitetail. Shot twice: Once behind each shoulder.
- I think the shank of 1 bullet exited, but was just a caliber sized hole.
- Everything in the path of bullets turned to soup.
- I didn’t blood trail this one as it was dark and raining and I watched it fall.
- Im super happy with these bullets so far. All 3 animals shot have been down within 30 yards. And internal damage has been crazy impressive

Tons more, but you get the idea. Boringly reliable. My main rifle till I shot the barrel out.

Went out to chase a cow tag this morning. About hour and a half into my two hour drive, while wearing crocs, realized I forgot my boots. Idiot.

Said screw it, got to my spot, hiked about a mile out to a glasing knob at first light, 5 min into glassing saw this cow working up the draw. Ran over to a vantage, ranged 410, layed my rifle over my pack, dialed 1.8 mil, stopped her with a loud unrealistic mew, and squeezed off a round.

6mm creed with 6x super chicken, recoil was nil, watched her twitch a bit at Impact, ran 20 yards and tipped over.

108 eldm, impact velocity ~2300, impact was slight quartered to, a bit high

Entrance with hide off just behind shoulder

Entrance with a layer of meat pulled off, hit a rib straight on

Exit with hide off, hide caught a bit of jacket

Cavity, golf ball hole through back of both lungs

Two heavy trips, crocs took it like a champ

Impact was slight quartered to, a bit high, maybe she walked a bit closer after i ranged. More likely I pulled it.

Excellent. I run the same model and color. Good to know they can perform this well.

I’ve always worn my crocks on the drive in and wondered how it would be to hunt in them if I every forgot my boots. Good to know it can be done! Great work!

Nice job. Your crocs look way more manly than Ryan’s, even without the blood on them.

60 yard shot. Impact mv should’ve been right sound 2700.
No exit and didn‘t hit any ribs, so no blood trail. But was down in 40 yds.
Liver was cut in half, diaphragm was blown open, and nicked the front of the stomach.

First pic is entry, second pic is offside

Thank goodness you put them in 4wd, that’s as good as an e-locker on a Tacoma!

A nice day of hunting for this old Remington 721 rifle setup as a fast twist 243. First day it’s ever been in the woods in this configuration.
Shooting 108ELDM at 3050 out of 23 inch barrel.
Decent 8 point for our area (215 lbs) and one hog down.
Really stretched the legs of this long range wonder, the hog at 55 yards(DRT, high shoulder front quartering, no exit) the deer at 25(chest broadside, golf ball size exit, 30 yard death dash) :)

Rookie question: what are we considering properly twisted?
Traditionally, major manufacturers produce .243 barrels with 1:10 twist. This is not sufficient to stabilize some of the heavier high BC (longer) bullets. I think the max for 1:10 .243 is 100 grains, and if a guy wants to shoot 105, 108, 110, 115, you need a barrel with faster twist.

If you know what cartridge (factory) or bullets (reloads) you want to use in your rifle, you can use Berger's twist rate calculator to confirm the stability of the load. This tool will also suggest what minimum twist you should be using.
