Anyone here load for the 6 x 45 /6mm/223 ? I was gifted a Kimber Super America and I need some ammo.

Thanks

Yes, but I load for whitetail hunting with 95-100 gr bullets. Does your Kimber have the twist for those bullets?

Not sure of the twist but some handloaded 90 grain bullets came with the rifle. If you don't mind what is your brass prep routine. Are you just running 223 over the 6mm expander?

Thanks for your response

Check out Little Crow Gunworks “Poor man’s PPC” series on YouTube. It’s all about loading for the 6x45.

Yes on the single pass over the expander, as stated above. I’d recommend annealing the cases before you expand the necks, I ended with some split after a few firings on some I didn’t anneal.

H335 for 70+gr, I ran mostly AA2200 with 55/60gr. I tried lots of different bullets, but mainly stuck with H335 because it worked well across a wide range of bullet weights and I had a few jugs kicking around.

Not too much I can add except where did your “gift-er” find this Kimber in 6x45? It’s a mandatory rule that you MUST post photos of the rifle you have questions about.

For some reason I am picturing a stainless kimber adirondak chambered 6x45, which sounds awesome.

This gifter has a ton of "high end" guns and he liked different stuff. I would say its classic Walnut and Blue but amazing. I'll post some pictures when I have a moment. It's so nice I cringe at the thought of hunting with it.
