6 PRC reloading

I'm gonna bite on barrel do u think fb at .140 or .180 is better? Going with a 1 in 7.5 twist. Hoping to run 107 to 116s. I know above post talks about the freebore issue. But i believe it was just a 7 twist.

There’s a few guys that mentioned running the 6.5 dies and 6.5stem with no issues. Back around page 6. Nothing forester specific, but it shouldn’t be an issue.

I called Redding to get a 6 stem for my 6.5 die...guy said the stem should be deep enough that the 6 bullet wouldn't bottom out and to see how it did. It's been perfect...dude saved me some money and didn't just sell me a stem to sell me a stem. Hats off to Redding, not the first time they've done me right either.

I’m gathering components for a 7 twist 6 Creed I’m having rechambered to PRC. Has anyone run the 95 TMK out of a 20-22” barrel? What speeds and powder?

I got my first 30 rounds out. Using only 565, ADG brass 20” barrel PBB.

108 ELDM, 59 of 565 = 3067 and a great group SD/ES albeit not meaningful size. However 0 pressure signs in the slightest

I also shot a good group with Berger 109’s and 59 grains.

I had a smith give me some more freebore and sent 2 identical dummy rounds.

I think I ended up with WAY more FB than I expected. Maybe I’m wrong. I’m no smifff.

However seems like a lot more powder then other are using for same speed.

I’m thinking of going to 570 or 4831SC and seeing what I can get if going above 60 grains maxes out.

I have 59.5 to 61 at .5 intervals loaded

The UM will give a little more velocity, but brass is only made by ADG, or else you have to use 6.5 SAUM brass. The 6 PRC gives terminal effectiveness to 850 -1,000 yards, and brass is super plentiful as 6.5 PRC. Single step neck dom
Did you ever try Grand? I have some next to my 4831sc and I’m trying to decide if I should load 10-15 up with grand and see what it can do.

Would be interested to hear where you get with 570. 59g of 565 is where we landed on 6 PRC and I believe @Elk Chaser is right there with 25 PRC as well.

I loaded up Grand last night from 55 to 59 grains.

Similar load data to H1000 bc there isn’t a whole lot of good comps.

So I have 565 from 59.5 to 61 loaded and th grand.

Fingers crossed one has something like 3150-3200 no pressure and great groups!! Maybe next weekend I’ll get out.
