I’m also wondering when Hornady will/would Sami spec the 6PRC. Makes sense for me since they have the 22/6/6.5 creed

No problem. I thought the same thing, they definitely want a pretty penny. Maybe we will see some prefits floating around one day. Thanks again for the 6um heads up I checked it out but with the cost of reamer and go guage as well as more expensive dies and brass I'll be $1000 cheaper to get set up with 6 prc since my smith already has a reamer so that makes the choice to stick with prc pretty easy.
What were you findings here, ever hear back from Hornady and Tubbs?I think I’m going to reach out to Hornady and probably David Tubb and see what the max rpm’s are for some of these bullets. I just thought it was interesting that a 115 Berger Target at 3,400 fps was under a 1.5 with an 8 twist but a 7 twist would put it at nearly 330k
I’ve listened to a pile of Hornady podcasts over the last year and I don’t see them ever introducing the 6 PRC to SAAMI. Their ballistician mentioned in one podcast that the 22 creed was one of the most difficult SAAMI introductions they’ve done due to how overbore it is and trying to come up with a twist rate sufficient for legacy and new heavy-for-caliber match bullets.I’m also wondering when Hornady will/would Sami spec the 6PRC. The same ballistician mentioned in a separate podcast that the 25 PRC was even too overbore for them to introduce, but I could see them changing their tune on that one with all the new 25 cal projectiles.
I doubt they will unless a large market grows for it from wildcatters first like it did with 22 creed. There were numerous vendors making 22 creed and 25 creed head stamped brass before Hornady got on board.I’m also wondering when Hornady will/would Sami spec the 6PRC.
