6 Dasher vs 22 Creedmoor?

At the moment I am still using the T3x Lite stock, with added cheek riser, swapped grip and recoil pad, etc. But if I customize more, I will probably put it in a rockstock, or maybe a chassis with a bit shorter length of pull than the Tikka's standard stock.
If you’re not doing aics mags I’d just do a 6 creed and call it a day.

Aics mags open up a few more options including dasher, but I wouldn’t go with it unless that was my plan. Very well might work with others but aics mags can be had in br/dasher specific setups and feed and function fine in those

Interesting. Not a GT, but I have been thinking about a 22 GT 18” over a 22 creedmoor. I hear better barrel life and near same velocity

That very well may be. Can’t speak to the 22 version as I’ve not had any experience with it. Difference in bore volume and available bullets could skew things more in its favor than in the 6mm realm. But again, I’ve never seen/messed with one.

FWIW, .22 GT has the same case capacity to bore area ratio as 6mm Creedmoor.

.22 Creedmoor has a ratio that lies midway between those of 7mm PRC and .270 WSM.

Smaller diameter bullet equals less bore area behind bullet equals different velocities equals maybe a different comparison.

Still a short/fat cartridge with 35 degree shoulder, same difference in feed reliability between the two…but having never looked into it the barrel life and velocity differences may be more pronounced. That’s what I mean.

But again, never looked at it personally.

I’ve got an 18” 22GT. My hand load with 80 eldm runs essentially the same speed as Hornady 22 creed factory ammo. If you hand load, the difference is about 100fps. I’ve only got 400 rounds on mine but most accounts say the barrel life is 2-2.5x that of a 22 creedmoor.
