About to try these speer 130hp's in a 308 on some whitetail. Im betting on carnage as they are clocking 3250 to 3260 at the muzzle.

There's one issue with that math for total wound volume. One would need to account for the profile shape of the wound width, not just base it on the maximum width.

This is correct- however, “wound width” after it exits an animal isn’t generally helpful.

For example, the width of the mono's wound decreases much slower than the others, and according to ballistic gel tests is often wider at the end.

This is not correct unless it yaws.

I am referencing this comparison in ballistic gel. The 127 and 160 LRX have the better width after 10-12”.
