6 Dasher thread

Is there a thread with their testing? I tried searching and am not having any luck.

I’m going through this currently with deciding on shooting 116s or 107s. I have shot some deer with the 107 and they work.

If I can make 2700 with the 116 I’ll likely give it a solid go late this summer on deer, and likely on some elk this fall.

Re the Berger. I don’t like what bergers do on deer. They just take too long to upset.


I havnt been shooting as much as I should be. New job has been getting in the way. Hopefully soon I’ll get some more data out. Can barely keep up with my match dasher for one days at this point.

I’m on the fence with cartridge right now but leaning hard towards the Dasher just because the GT will only provides an extra ~30fps with my short 16.5” for the extra powder I’ll burn and additional recoil I pick up from that.
I think I should be sitting around 2750’ pushing 107 TMK, 108 Elite Hunter, or 109 ELD-M on the top end, so the bigger/heavier offerings won’t provide any advantage on my build.
Knowing how the TMKs compare with the ELD-Ms on game may be the deciding factor. I don’t plan to shoot anything bigger than mountain mule deer with this gun and most likely predatory control on the coyote population that’s gone crazy in the valley I live in.

16.5” I’d probably burn more powder. You’re going to be really pushing a dasher to get 2750 with those bullets at that length.

Regarding tmk/eld. I have shot a decent amount of animals with a 108 eld and have been happy. Been happy with the 107tmk as well but havnt shot an elk with them. Tmk do open up faster and I almost always have seen immediate upset on the inside ribs with Tmk, where as eld seem to penetrate a bit more before upset; neither being like a Berger which seems to make it a third into a deer before it upsets.

With what you require I think a 107 will likely put preform the other, and what I would choose. Especially on predators and varmints, a little more velocity to help with ranging error is nice to have.

How long is the 107 TMK? Finding information on that bullet is tough cuz there's conflicting lengths. I'd love to have the actual dims to upload into GRT to run a true comparison with my 16.5'' barrel instead of choosing the 95 TMK and then putting the average of the lengths I've been able to find and hoping the BT number on the 95gr is close enough lol
