Where did you get yours from?20” dasher tikka prefit ordered. I went with the .154 freebore. Hoping it likes 112 mb’s.
Preferred. They had quite a few reamer options.Where did you get yours from?
How fast is the Dasher going to move the 116gr in a 24" barrel at wet-safe pressure?Dasher, GT, Creedmoor
I don’t think you can go wrong with the GT either. But as I said, my goal was 2000fps at 5-600 yards with the least recoil and most barrel life. Every time shoot these rifles I am impressed more and more with their consistency and ease of shooting.

I’m not sure yet. I just got a 7twist barrel in to get chambered and I’ll likely do 22”. If I can comfortably make 2650-2700 I’d be happy. How fast is the Dasher going to move the 116gr in a 24" barrel at wet-safe pressure?
My 20” dasher with 105 bergers is shooting 2744This is intriguing. What 20" velocities are we talking with berger 105s to tmk 107s?

For the experienced dasher loaders, is varget the go to powder in the slightly heavier bullets as well? I’m planning to start there with the 112 MB’s. It’s gonna be a funny looking little round when it’s loaded up![]()
Curious where you draw the line for a gun for 500 yards in regards to wind number?
On paper it seems I need to jump significantly in powder or bullet weight to gain much at all. With the 107 and 116tmk now you’re looking at pretty efficient bullets going at a decent speed.
I prefer to be 8mph +. That said, I take my 22 creed hunting more than any other and it isn’t an 8 mph gun. I just know I’m potentially be limited depending on conditions. If I’m anticipating a 500+ yard shot in broken terrain I’ll step up in recoil for something that flies better (6.5 or 7 PRC).
I really like that 12 pound range. I’ve found that it seems to be a good all around weight for me. 10 is about as low as I’ll go usually.I can wrap my head around that. If I was building a 509 plus yard gun wit would likely be in one of those and be 12-14 pounds.
For shoot ability for most of my shots, the dasher can’t be beat.
I don’t mind a lighter gun in the dasher, I can still shoot it easily and spot shots at 9lbs.I really like that 12 pound range. I’ve found that it seems to be a good all around weight for me. 10 is about as low as I’ll go usually.
Not that you need the weight for the dasher/GT type cartridges I just prefer it usually.I don’t mind a lighter gun in the dasher, I can still shoot it easily and spot shots at 9lbs.
I do yearn for a 14 pound 300wsm some days.
Too much going on is exactly why I just shoot dasher now. Streamline components, loading and easy to shoot. Not that you need the weight for the dasher/GT type cartridges I just prefer it usually.
My 17 pound 338 Lapua beckons but lacks a scope. Too many irons in the fireone of these days I’ll get it back up and running.
Have you tried the primal rights kit in a plastic AICS mag?As far as aics mags go, I have a spat of them. I do not have a Hawkins mag, if the new version ends up working I may try them. All the mags pictured have worked very well.
Pictured. 12 round MDT BR/dasher mag, 10 round AI w/ primal rights kit, 10 round MDT BR/dasher mag, AI 5 round with primal rights kit (makes it a 4 rounder)
I use the 4 rounders for hunting. The ai mags are a definite step up in quality to the mdt imo.

Negative. They only reccomend them for binder plate AI and accurate mags.Have you tried the primal rights kit in a plastic AICS mag?
If I had a bunch of NRL hunter around me it would be a tough decision. The idea of consolidating sounds more and more appealing every time I think about it. I currently load 6.5 for nrl 22GT for 95% of our hunting and 223 for plinking/rock chucks. If I moved to 6 and 6.5 that would simplify it at least a little bit…![]()
I could not go strictly 6mm for that reason alone unless it was 6 creed and even then I’d be limited to factory division which wouldn’t work currently because tikka doesn’t have a 6creed at the moment. So for me it would be consolidating down to those 2 which would still be better than what I’m currently doing for simplicity’s sake anyways. Reloading has become a necessary evil for the amount of shooting I do and want to keep doing… unfortunately. If I had a bunch of NRL hunter around me it would be a tough decision.
