Just picked up a new dasher and ready to start developing my first load. Was able to find some Berger 105 Hybrid targets and a 100 pieces of Peterson brass. I can't find any Varget but can get some VV N540. Anyone have a recommendation on using the VV N540 for a dasher load?

Thanks, Scott

Late to see this - looks like you and I are the only dasher shooters on here! I have a good supply of varget so that is all I have used with the 105's and it has been awesome. I do have a friend that has used N140 with good luck, which I believe is the same burn rate as 540. Get on the 6 dasher page on facebook or search on snipershide. Should be able to find some information on there.

Thanks for responding. I was lucky enough to pick up a jug of Varget so I'm working on testing now.

30-32 gr of varget, some 450s or BR2 and .030 off lands and it should hammer. Mine loves 109 hybrids. 2840 fps w/ 32 gr of varget.

31.4 grains of varget, alpha brass, 450’s, 105 hybrids. Start around 30.5 or so and work up to 32. .030 jump and .060 jump shot the best in mine. This load had a SD of 3.8 and ES of 11. It is a very forgiving cartridge.

Just picked up a dasher myself. Have Varget for my Creed rifles but trying to track down these Bergers is tricky. 6mm projectiles go quick!

You should be in the 32-33 gr range for the Dasher in N540. Typical Dasher node is 3000-3030 if you have a chrono.

In my bench gun I'm shooting 33.22 gr of RL15 with a 105 pointed VLD jammed .004. Shoots in the .1's and .2's.

32.0 Varget, 105 Hybrid, Hydroformed BR Lapua (DJ’s brass, buy cases from Blue Collar) CCI 450’s … go up or down on the powder. Shoot for 2925 and let it rip. Probably the easiest round I’ve ever loaded for.
