6 creed with 95 TMK thoughts

I’m going to load some in a 20” 243. Thinking 40-42 grains h4350

I know I’m probably wishing upon a star, but is there any chance anyone out there has a box of the 95 TMK’s that they’d be willing to sell me?

I’ll work on getting a supply after the fall but I sure would like to work up a quick load and hunt deer with them in the six arc this fall.

500ct in stock currently, bluecollar has always been great to deal with.

Got my last 200 from them. Can vouch

Whats the magic sauce here? Better than a 95 BT? I think youd be hard pressed to get 3200 out of an 18" 6 creed. If you do, you probably arent using that brass again. I was creeping up just over 3100 with N555 and 95BTs running into pressure. The better accuracy was had a little lower even.

Massive wound channels on average- like a very upsized 77hr TMK.

Better… eh. The 95gr NBT is one of the best overall designed hunting bullets made. Near perfect in execution for what the intent was. But, it has a crap BC, and does not create nearly as wide a wound as the TMK.

I think a bunch of people will find that the 95gr TMK impacting at relatively higher velocities will be way more destructive than they want if they hit bone.

The 130gr 6.5mm tmk, is it even more notably larger than the 95gr? Think 3000mv as if ran from a short barrel prc/Saum.
My sample size is still fairly small, but I have a few kills with them started at just over 2800 out of a CM. Mostly fairly moderate ranges, impact velocities between 2500-2700. They do a lot of damage. I'd have no issue shooting one into an elk, and while I will happily hunt whitetails with it, I frankly prefer shooting them with my 223, as the 130s can get pretty messy.

Longer ranges/lower impact velocities would help. It's quite a bullet.

I second this, took a good sized mule deer buck with the 130g TMK last year and was disappointed with the amount of meat loss even though it was a well placed shot into the back edge of the onside shoulder. Entrance wound was about the size of my fist and that continued through the lungs to the offside shoulder. Deer died in 30 yards after a brief sprint at the shot. Impact velocity was around 2700 from an 18” 6.5Creed, so nothing crazy.

When I went to process it, the onside shoulder was mostly dog food and the inside portion of the offside shoulder was also severely damaged.

I’ll be sticking with 223 for deer going forward and picked up a fast twist 243 since we have a 6mm minimum for elk in WY.

That sounds familiar!

I killed several critters last few years(20+) with 112s, 109 eldm, 108 elite hunter all at 2860-3060mv, impacts from 230y to past 700y. All were dead very quickly.

Never found one situation that told me, man this is borderline too much damage or meat loss.

I've killed several critters with 77tmk, 80 eldm and a few with 88eldm, and similar results found. Sufficient but not extravagant carnal damage.

Yikes........

My brother has a Ruger #1 in 243, and just ordered 500 95 TMK to load in it. I guess we will see how this goes.......

Well, my sample size is relatively small- but the few I have seen were impressive. The wounds from the 95gr TMK last year were the most tissue damage from any bullet, any caliber, and cartridge I have ever seen in an elk.

They will probably end up doing what TMK’s normally do: if they just hit lungs or even ribs- not so bad usually. But if they hit bone, they generally cause a pretty large mess.
