Anyone shoot DTAC’s out of a 6 creed? Wondering how fast they would chrono out of a 20” barrel. Maybe 2800-2825? Also I have read about lot to lot differences/B.C. variance. Wondering if QC has gotten better or if that is still an issue.

I think that's definitely doable. I run them at 3030 with N555 from a 24" barrel. You'd prob be around 2900 from a 20". I've shot 3 different lots of standard 115 dtacs(not nose ring) made in last 2 years, and it's ranged from 308-313g7.

The nose ring dtac has a g7 of around 285-290. There are lighter bullets of equal or greater bc that will run higher muzzle velocity due to the long bearing of the dtac. Standard dtacs are a no go on critters unless you're shooting em in the head.

My new 22" 6cm barrel just got delivered, I'm going to start off with 112 barnes match burners and 109 eldms.

42 grains of H4350 is pushing my 109s at 2880 with a 16” barrel. I eventually want to try the DTACs with nose ring. The damage they create on elk is impressive!
The damage is impressive however they've all been getting launched at very high mv. Believe the deep nose ring were starting to upset half way through animals, the standard cut was a bit deeper. For a 6cm, I'd probably go with the eldm, or 112 match burner. I got the new 22" 6cm out this morning, 41gr H4350 with 112s jumping 10k, running 2920fps. This was the first 5 rounds out of the barrel. Was pretty happy with my bore sight.

Form has spoken to it a few times but he does not necessarily reccomend a DTAC for the 6 Creed. The 108 ELDM, 109 ELDM or 112 Matchburners seem like the more proven tickets for a 6mm in the sub 3000 MV space.

After alot of research, I have opted to run the 109 ELDM. It provides a BC similar to the DTAC and Matchburner but the proven terminal track record of the 108 ELDM. Seems like the easy button here...

I’m thinking of chopping mine to 20 and have UM +P it. Would be cool to get 3k with the noserings.
I specifically talked to UM about this for the 6 Creed and they recommended against it.

Freebore is already long with the saami 6cm, turn that 3° throat into the shallow +p geometry, and it'll erode very quickly. I personally would never +p any chamber.

How many +P barrels have you shot out?

A grand total of zero! Modifying a throats lead angles in the pursuit of 75-100fps eludes my logic. If it was all that, it'd be everywhere. I have shot out several standard lead geometry barrels, I know how it moves as I usually checked it every 300-400 rounds when I used to chase a jump. I know 1° of metal will erode faster than 3°.

I haven't seen that be the case in big 300s or 338s and +P treatments. I lost about 50 to 100 rounds of barrel life with them. Now, with 6mm, I have seen some issues and a very short barrel life.

The saami 6cm leade is 1.5 degrees, not 3 degrees.

DoveBlaster runs 115 dtac at 3000fps from a 22” PBB prefit with a mild load of H4350, I think he has a fast barrel.

I’m a little over 2900fps with 108 eldm with similar charge if H4350.

I’m more comfortable with the 108 eldm tipped bullets from what I have read about the 115 dtac.

Iast season I took 2x antelope, 2x aoudad, 2x WT deer and a Muley from 60yds to 517yds and had very good performance with the 108s on all of them.
