Has anyone shot the Unknown Munitions 6mm 108 ELD-M? Curious how much velocity increase one should expect there over a standard box of ELD-M from Hornady?

I have an 18" xcaliber carbon coming for my 6CM build. I'll be happy with 2850 for 108s. I plan to try tye ELDMs, Bergers, and the 95gr NBT.

I appreciate everyone's feedback here. I initially wanted 3kfps and was leaning towards a custom throated 243ai but the brass availability of 6CM and no fire forming won me over. In the end, the short barrel was most important so I stuck with that.

Like someone else said, it takes discipline to stick to your plan when building a gun. I comtemplated going to a 20 or 22" barrel but luckily talked myself out of it. This gun was a specific build for thick southern woods whitetails. I'll be lucky to see a 200yd shot.

I haven’t tried the UM, but I did order 500 of the GAP 109 ELDMs. According to Form they act just like other ELDMs terminally on game, but have a better BC since they are basically A-Tips with polymer instead of aluminum tips.

I have some of that. I chronographed both factory and the UM. The factory Hornady shoots average 2952. And the UM is 3133. This is out of a 24 inch barrel

3050 was gonna be my guess, that's the middle node where I run a few my 6cm. This is a screenshot from the UM website.

How did this turn out for you? I’m in your neighboring province and was looking a similar direction for the next rifle build. I couldn’t find a reasonable way to get a rifle up here from unknown, so I bought the rokstock and they’re shipping it up for a flat $50.

Thinking 22” ibi barrel, Ti3 action, trigger tech diamond and m5 hunter dbm. Should be a good sheep / md rig.

If it's any help to you. I just had a Howa 1500 6cm built with a 22" IBI Med Hunter Profile. .120FB to run the 112gr Match Burner.
Fireforming 6cmLRP ADG Brass, I'm right on 2846fps with 39.0gr of AR2209 and REM 7 1/2 Primers. Groups were excellent. I have no regrets about going to 22".

My Seekins Element 21" suppressed with Hornady factory ELD-X 103 gr. is 2883 from my Labradar.

I wish they still sold/made these.

Hey I'm also in BC and have a rokstock on order. I heard on shoot2hunt unknown has a Canadian distributer now. Hopeing this makes ordering itar items much easier. If so I'll order a barrel, bottom metal and rings soon for the tikka

Go big tactical. They’re excellent to deal with in my experience.

Testing 10k, 40k, 50k,60k jump with 41.4gr H4350, velocity for all 12 rounds was 2938-2917. As the jump increased, velocity dropped it a bit. These are 200y groups. So everything was half to sub quarter moa. I know these are only 3 Rd groups. I'm going to do some more testing.

Only 3 round groups, BUT your 12 round aggregate is probably under half, i wouldn’t do any more testing! Pick one and shoot. Got a good barrel

Agreed. There is less than 50 rounds on this at the moment, so it'll speed up for a while. My first Ace, so kinda unknown. So far this barrel likes the 109 and 112mb but that's all I've tested. I'd like to think with these 106tap I have and see what they do.

Def doable. I run 105s at 2950 from an 18", 95tmk at 3080. I wish I could get some more of the 95s! I am having a new ace 237 bore 4gr 7.5tw barrel spun at 22" tho with an alpha SAAMI spec reamer and plan to run 112mb at 2950-3050 in that rig.

My new PVA throated 18” 7 tw. bbl is getting a load developed right now.

120 rounds (110 factory Hornady to break it in) in and I’m getting 2960 fps with 112 MB’s, H4350 and Alpha OCD brass.

Barrel was only cleaned when received, before first round fired, and has never been fired without a Scythe-Ti attached.
