6.5cm for elk bullet selection

I believe these are produced for federal only as a part of their TRU line. They make a 168 TMK which was described more of a match king with a tip, than a tipped match king. I presume these are the same thing.

@Formidilosus seems to know a bit about it. But the 30 cal version shoots great and does great things on game. The BC is lower than a 140 eldm, but higher than a 130 TMK. I’m hoping to kill a few animals with it this year.

They are very good terminally.

143 ELDX, 140 ELDM, 147 ELDM, 130 Berger Hybrid OTM, 130 TMK. I shoot hornady 143 ELDX because its readily available and shoots the best in mine.
This looks like a list of all the rapidly expanding bullets that have been proven. Been doing a lot of reading the last week.

Something that shows up in this thread frequently.

Try the Federal Terminal Ascent. I believe the 6.5CM bullet in 130 grains. Ill be using the TA 170 grain rounds for my AZ elk this year with my 7PRC. They shoot 1/4" groups from my TS Customs rifle. Also, they're over 200 fps faster than the 175gr ELDX's..with way less deviation. They are really an accurate bullet and would kill anything

If I wasn’t launching into reloading I’d be looking at the Barnes Harvest line, with the 140gr Sierra TMKs. As it is I’ll be loading up the 130gr TMKs for this season.
