6.5CM, $2k budget

I wasn’t aware of that, looks like they might be back on the list then...

EuroOptic has them listed. Looks like the Cerakoted models are $1200, and I’ve heard early summer before they’re available.

My .02;
barret fieldcraft or
ca mesa put a more ergonomic stock on it and spend the extra $ on glass

That barret fieldcraft does look like a good option as well, but appears they are stocked out everywhere due to increased demand from military contracts....

barrel in 2" longer than you want but Savage just came out with their Ultra light 5.8lbs. Threaded carbon barrel adjustable length of pull and comb height and well under your budget.

According to the Tikka video from the Shot Show their rep said they are expecting a release of these within about 30 days of the show so that should be soon. I do remember how long those damn T1X’s took to be released as well, so at this point who the hell knows!

Dang! This thing looks a contender! I had no idea this was on the way. I was 100% ready to pull the trigger last night on the CA ridgeline based off of the earlier, very sound advice about it matching up with my larger caliber rifle... but this one has me thinking. That Proof barrel is a NICE feature and I do like their accutrigger. I bet these sell out fast.

2” longer than I want it to be, and really no way to ever take it down any further; and ~ $300 less.

This is going to be a tough one now...

I have. 24” Proof Research Carbon fiber barrel in the classifieds that would be perfect for this rifle.

I am not sure where he ordered it from but a family friend said he ordered on e for $900 but they look like they will retail around $1200. to me the cost savings is worth 2"

Just an FYI. The Savage UltraLites are now showing up. Received notice of availability first thing this morning and ordered a 6.5 PRC. Some calibers have already sold out while others (30/06, 308 Win, 6.5 CM) are still available.

Right on. Would you be able to provide some feedback once you receive yours? Maybe throw up a quick review thread or something?

I’m interested in one of these rigs for sure!

I just read an article (maybe close to a year old) that Savage has a "custom" shop too. They might be able to set you up with a 20" tube if you give them a call.

I had the Kimber Mountain Ascent in 6.5CM. Traded it in and got the CA Ridgeline in 6.5CM with the 20” barrel and love it. Just recently put it in a Proof stock to save another 12 ounces. My favorite rifle I’ve ever had and stupid light now, but still shootable.

I've got a 6.5 PRC on order also. Can't wait to get my hands on it!

T3, Sportmatch, SWFA. Problem is it’s not cool, doesn’t impress anyone, doesn’t get ooohs and aaahs, boringly accurate and you’d be stuck with $1,000.

More phuggin white people problems.

T3 superlite, swfa 3x9 HD and as mentioned the sport match. spend a couple hundred on ammo or components, thread the barrel, put on a suppressor and shoot a lot.

My smith threads for $60. He will do it while I wait if needed. So threads to me are neither here nor there. As for the lightweight and short 6.5, try a Barrett 18" Fieldcraft. And +1 on the Sako Carbonlight
Love the field craft but looking at at least $1700 for the 6.5 now. Not much left for glass

16Bore is spot on. I have a T3X lite with a Tract Toric 3-15 and this rifle is sub 8 pounds and shoots lights out! This is my first 200 yard group with factory 143 Eld-X ammo and a 10-15 mph crosswind. I am sure it will hopefully tighten up with handloads.🙄

That savage ultralight is very interesting, hope some of you post up your results. The stock is freaking ugly but who cares if it shoots.

Now my vote would be a CA ridgeline to the OP.
