I have some 6.5 GAP 4S head stamped Hornady brass, for a new to me gun. Can I used a Hornady 7saum FLS die with the expander ball removed and a 6.5 bushing (.291ish) for setting the shoulders back and getting the neck sized down? I would then use a 6.5 turning mandrel to open the necks back up for bullet seating? I have a universal bullet seater, but could I used the 7saum seating die as well? So?

1. Can I used 7saum FLS die to bump shoulder back on 6.5 GAP brass with the right bushing?
2. Either no expander ball, or a 6.5 expander ball?
3. Can I use the 7saum seating die or do I need to use my universal?

Yes, I have a 6.5 GAP 4s and that is exactly what I do. Redding full length sizer die, 6.5 Expander ball, 289 bushing with brass turned to .013

I'm hoping with head stamped 6.5 brass I won't have to do any neck trimming!

So....for trim length, I was planning on going with 2.025" as that seems to be the common or most accepted trim length. For the heck of it, I cut down a case and used a sinclair chamber length gauge and came up 2.0435 (tested several times). With this length chamber would you suggest still trimming down to 2.025" or something longer. I didn't have this gun reamed or built, but the smith that did it sent me the reamer print and it's the new SAUM reamer with .120 free bore. I have a couple hundred pieces of one shot brass, but not from this gun! Most are at 2.025" number with a couple at 2.0265", and they chamber empty fine in my gun. Do I need to trim them all the same right now or let it ride for a while as the brass expands to my actual chamber?
