Thanks everyone. I want one worse now!
You can only get the phenomenal speeds in the CM with R26 and IIRC it was a compressed load in mine. I use R17 in several and get within 50-75fps of R26 loads. My Ridgeline is easily the fastest CM. Factory 140 ELD-M do 2675-2700 and handloads do 100 more. The other 2 CM are 50-75fps slower.
I have a Mauser M18 and a CA Mesa in the PRC. Factory 147’s do 2825 in the M18 and 2900ish in the Mesa. 147’s with 55.5grs of 7828 do 3000ish in the Mesa. 7828 was faster and more accurate than H1000.
I also am almost out of R26 and tired of not finding it locally.....
My .02
For me the real draw to the PRC is to have a shorter barrel length and still get good speeds. I like short rifles

long time lurker once i get 10 posts i'll be pming you guys. I'm looking at making an 18" 6.5PRC from a Tikka T3x w/ supressor. Wondering how gun balance is for you guys, if the supressor provides a nice amount of weight out front to even things out some.I have a 18” Proof barrel in a Tikka action chambered in 6.5 PRC. Getting 2960-2990 FPS out of the factory Hornady 143s.
i'm not worried about the recoil while hunting, been using a 270 since i was 14 with a plastic butt plate, but I actually want to learn to shoot out to 500 yards with this gun.long time lurker once i get 10 posts i'll be pming you guys. I'm going for a very light mountain hunter rifle. Supressed i'm hoping its quiet-ish, doesn't kick as much and is light.
My barrel is 25-26” with the suppressor, entire rifle weighs 8lbs 10 oz with suppressor. Balance is perfect and recoil is like a 22 mag! Most fun (and accurate) gun I’ve ever hadlong time lurker once i get 10 posts i'll be pming you guys. I'm looking at making an 18" 6.5PRC from a Tikka T3x w/ supressor. I'd be concerned about recoil in the sense that I want to be able to observe misses and hopefully observe trace. The less recoil (or better recoil management technique), the more value you'll get out of shooting practice.i'm not worried about the recoil while hunting, been using a 270 since i was 14 with a plastic butt plate, but I actually want to learn to shoot out to 500 yards with this gun.
Hoping it'll be my "Anything smaller than an Elk" gun.
concerned about recoil with the270 or the6.5prc? or the recoil with a 18" barrel supressed?I'd be concerned about recoil in the sense that I want to be able to observe misses and hopefully observe trace. see my BAR270 has a 22.5" barrel and I think if i had a little more weight out front it would have nice balance. So cut off 4" of that barrel and hang a 10 ounce supressor off the end, that's like hanging a 6 once weight on the end of my BAR270.......or so I was thinking. My barrel is 25-26” with the suppressor, entire rifle weighs 8lbs 10 oz with suppressor. Balance is perfect and recoil is like a 22 mag! Most fun (and accurate) gun I’ve ever had
is that a mesa altitude stock? how do you like it? did you weigh the stock by itself?24 inched Christensen Arms MPR barreled action was sending factory 143 Hornady eldx 2920, and 147 elm 2843 with a silencerco omega suppressor
Is AG composite the one that manufactures the mesa altitude? is it actually this stock.yup, mesa altitude in Mojave, weighed exactly 27oz on my food scale. But thats also with bedding compound in it and m5 cutout. Loved the stock, I just don't like how hollow all ag composite stocks are in the butt end of the stock.
Yes AG makes the Mesa and the Visigoth is very close in shape. Is AG composite the one that manufactures the mesa altitude? is it actually this stock.
