Hey, I shot my first rifle deer over the weekend with a friends 270, loved it..
Looking to buy my first rifle next year sometime.
Most brands I'm looking at only offer in 6.5 PRC/creedmor (Mountain Forged/Sig Cross/Bergara)
Would this be very similar as far as recoil.. flat trajectory up to 500 or so yards? I What brand would you recommend for around $2500-$3000 cost for best rifle with good barrel?

I would STRONGLY advise against getting a hot semi-custom or high end factory rifle in .270 or 6.5PRC as your first/only rifle.
What I would do in your shoes knowing what I know now, is get a Tikka .223 first, good scope/rings (SWFA 3-9 in UM rings) and a suppressor. You'll never regret owning it.
That is a good combo to 400+ yards with the right bullets. The thing is, to ethically shoot game much further than that takes lots of practice, and lots of practice is expensive and less productive with a .270/PRC size cartridge. The .223 is enough gun for mid range, and it's the best way to get the practice needed for extended range hunting. There's no scenario where you're not better off owning one.
I would wait on the bigger rifle, until you get more trigger time on the .223 and learn what you do and don't like. The bigger rifle would, for me, also be a Tikka so if you got an upgraded stock now for the .223 (I love my Rokstok) you could move it to the big rifle when you get that and put a factory stock back on the .223 if you want.
For me the "big gun" would be a Tikka with either a prefit 6CM or a factory .243 rechambered to 6CM. This will kill out to 800+, and the .223/6CM is a perfect pair. Essentially unlimited barrel life and cheap ammo with the .223 and excellent ballistics, shootability, and extended range terminal performance with the 6CM. Suppressor can move from one to the other as needed.
