6.5 PRC, H4831SC, 143 ELDX and 147 ELDM

I need to do a barrel break in using the components in the title. I see that Hornady list H4831 for both grain of bullets but didn't list H4831SC. Can I use the Hornady data for H4831 interchangeably with H4831SC? Does anyone have load data using H4831SC for 143 - 147 grain bullets (min-max charge)?

Yes H4831 and H4831sc are the same powder.

They have the same burn rate also

Yes, same powder just the shortcut version of it. Data can be used interchangeably.

I have used H4831sc with the 147 eldms. Velocity was around 2900 with great accuracy and es out of a factory 24 inch Christensen Ridgeline supressed.

How can they be the same burn rate if one of them is a smaller grain? Honest question. . . because I always thought that grain size played into that.

4831SC has been the most accurate powder in my 20" 6.5 prc. I have also found over half a dozen kegs or so that it tends to vary lot to lot. Anytime you change lots drop by a full grain or even 1.5 grains and check before resuming your max load. Ask me how I know..... Or just buy 8# and be done.
