Looking at purchasing dies for my 6.5 PRC, always used RCBS 2 die sets in the past with Great results. Is there anything better for loading for a hunting gun? or just stick with what has worked in the past? Looking for MOA or better if possible. Will be using new Lapua brass.

I’ve used RCBS dies but with my 6.5 PRC I upgraded to the Redding Type S Match die set. Very happy with the results. I really like that die set and will probably stick with it moving forward but have no comparison as that’s the only 6.5 die set I have. Easy load development. Lapua brass as well.

I've been disappointed with the last few sets of Redding dies I have bought. Mainly the quality of the surface finish. Polishing the FL die was a must. I think if you go with what you like you will be fine. I do like having a seating die with a micrometer.

Started with RCBS but had some inconsistencies with the dies, swapped out and have been using the Redding FL/Micro Seat and a 21st Century expander mandrel with excellent results. My RCBS set might have just been a production run with marginal QC, my other die sets from them have been spot on.

I was in your shoes not so long ago, ended up buying a Micron FL bushing die, and a LE Wilson Micrometer seating die for arbor press. I’m using Lapua brass too.

I have a extra set brand new of Redding 6.5 PRC dies if you're looking for a set.

Throwing this in for researchers.

I had issues with Redding Premium 3 die set on the sizing die with hard bolt closing upon chambering of rounds unless I threaded the sizing die in "extra" which resolved that issue but led to a high proportion of dented cases.

I switched to the hornady FL sizing die and it has a vent hole and sizes the bottom of the brass smaller and works great.

I'm generally a fan of standard Forster FL sizing dies with necks honed to desired dimension. The only reason i'd stray from them is if a guy wanted to pay $300 for a SAC modular sizing die or in the PRC's case if they knew a die sized more at the base of the case than forster to combat clickers. I've heard the micron dies are a little tighter in that area as well.

did my first round of load development for my 6.5 with the lee ultimate set best 3 groups were under 1/2 moa. 10-15ish fps es. Not sure i can improve on that much be it my reloading skills or shooting skills. I'll be using lee again for my 300

I had clickers even with good dies, I rented an AW2 reamer on here and did mine with it and it took care of the problem.

I use a redding type 2 fL and a RCBS matchmaster seating die.

I think I be upgrading to the SAC dies
