Thank you. My Redding size sizes down to 0.5325. What does it need to size down to in order to prevent clickers?I rented the reamer from a guy here. I don’t recall the user name but it’s wouldn’t be hard to find with a search.
From my memory, the .200 line on the case is where the clicker problem lies. From the reading I did when going through this, most dies cant size this area easily as it’s where you begin to run into the base of the case. I have two 6.5 PRC’s I reload for, and used the JGS reamer on both. Not a problem since and both rifles are super accurate. It doesn’t take much time and is super easy. Was well worth it to me.Thank you. My Redding size sizes down to 0.5325. What does it need to size down to in order to prevent clickers?
yeah the main body diameter is not so much the issue, a normal die doesn’t size down the case far enough into the case head. Although the cortina didn’t size any further down than my Redding type s.Thank you. My Redding size sizes down to 0.5325. What does it need to size down to in order to prevent clickers?
Bumping the shoulder took care of my clickers, agree with post above. From my memory, the .200 line on the case is where the clicker problem lies. I use a Redding body die to size and the bump shoulder, then a collet neck sizer. One likes .262 the other .260, for whatever reason.
Where did your rent the reamer?
Perfect. Thank you sir!Available for rent are complete kits to fix your 6.5 PRC, 300 PRC, or 7 PRC if you're dealing with the infamous 'clickers'. I started getting them on the second firing on one of my rifles, and fixed the other ones preemptively.
The fix is simple and removes about .003" of material at the .20" mark in the chamber. This allows the brass to expand enough that a reloading die can size it back down and it won't get stuck anymore. Otherwise, this area on the case is outside of the reach of the dies.
The how-to fix can be found here at Long Range Only...

Fingers crossed. 5x fired brass, shooting near max, no issue yet. I feel like it would have showed up by now, no?It’s based on your rifle. Need to measure fired brass and resized brass. Alex wheeler goes through how much clearance is needed and appropriate.
Probably, but I could live with 5-6 firings. This isn’t a thing where there is a standard rule that applies. It depends on how tight your chamber is cut. A tight custom rifle will probably show the issue sooner than a sloppy factory rifle.Fingers crossed. 5x fired brass, shooting near max, no issue yet. I feel like it would have showed up by now, no?
