Planning to build an 18” 6.5 PRC for a suppressed mountain rifle. I am torn as to a short action or a medium length action?

I intend to primarily shoot factory Hornady 147 ELDMs, although the ability to hand load down the road would be ideal. Likely still loading 147 ELDMs.

Debating between a Defiance AnTi-x in Medium or going short with a NBK, Nanook, or AnTi-x.

Thoughts? Experiences being limited by a SA?

Thanks for the feedback!!

If you want to stick with the R700 platform I would buy a BAT Vesper Medium from Unknown Munitions and buy their bottom metal and magazine

A prc on a short action is leaving some on the table, with wanting to do a 18” I would go medium, so you can hot rod it.

A tikka would be the easy button. But as a defiance guy a AntiX would be way cooler!

Medium’s just get into a little more limited stock/chassis options but that not too big of deal!

I bought the standard tikka t3x 6.5 prc, cut and threaded at 18". Shoots extremely well. Not sure what you'd improve upon it except maybe aftermarket stock, which have plenty of good options. I wouldn't spend a dime for a "better" barrel. How much weight would you expect to save for spending all that extra money on a short action "build"?
