Does anyone have any suggestions/ways to get 6.5 PRC ammo? I had a rifle built and it will be done in a few weeks and I can’t find any ammo anywhere....

ANY suggestions?

The demand is of toilet paper during the pandemic but with people who will stop at nothing to put a lifetime of ammo in their collections some with more funds then others.

So when they get it, where are they getting it? Randomly at shops and bass pros and stuff by going and checking repeatedly?

Maybe find a buddy that reloads. Even then, good luck finding components. You are likely going to have to pay exorbitant amounts for ammo, or sit on the gun for a year or so and, hopefully, weather the storm.

Lol. I thought so too, last week. I placed an order and "available " doesn't mean "in stock" at Optics Planet. My order confirmation said they'd be prepared for shipping in 3-4months....

I got caught by the same optic planet joke too. Ordered two boxes instock,

Your going to have to search the web, it’s possible as I found 10 boxes of 300 prc at just over retail. The more know stores have 1000’s of people on the back in stock list.

Sorry as it’s crazy times.

I have been fooled by them as well too. I’m sure it’s not available but who knows. I’m gave it a shot.

I placed a few ammo “back orders” through Opticsplanet back in November-December as they were the only place I could find that would accept back orders. This was before they jacked up their prices. I have gotten a few of those orders shipped to me. The rest say expected ship date of 5-20-21. They also do not charge your card until you get a tracking number

i bought 4 boxes of 6.5 prc hornady eld-x ammo at palmettostatearmory.com a couple weeks ago, check there, will prob come back in stock at some point. and just set up for it on ammoseek. but yeah it's weird how even the hunting ammo is becoming unobtanium.

Unfortunately this situation is not new and it isn't limited to this caliber. The search function is your friend.

Definitely worth a shot! I hope your experience is different than mine.

I'm just not a backorder guy. Never have been. If someone is going to charge my card, I like it followed by shipping info. BUT, if (and I believe they will across the board ) all ammo and component prices are going up, its not a bad idea to get an order in at today's prices and just wait...

To me, i feel like you gotta analyze how much you value your time and how much effort you feel its worth putting in to find any at "good prices".. or just overpay which is what i did.
I bid on gun broker and few times and most of the time i got outbid but i ended up getting 240 rounds so far for about half of what most the 6.5 prc is selling for on there. Got tired of driving/calling local stores, watching bids and scouring the net and gave up after that and told the sellers to text me if they can sell it to me for less than i payed them. One guy hit me up and sold me more. I figure all the time i waste trying to find it is a waste of my time. Payed 3.50 on average but then i had to pay for shipping lol. Got a new rifle(horrible timing lol)so while its uncomfortable to pay so much, its more uncomfortable to not have any ammo for me.

I called a local sportsmans the other day and what the guy said to me made sense. Asked him when ammo typically gets delivered and he literally told me "honestly, as soon as the trucks arrive several of my coworkers buy it all before it gets put out so they can resell it" lol i thought it was crazy but they're probably making bank on it. I get it but its still shitty

I've seen it a handful of times in north Georgia recently (Alexander's outside Blairsville). I'm back out west right now but will be east again next week. I don't have a PRC but thought of nabbing a box or two to save someone's hunting season (I can imagine the pain). Let me know if you are still coming up empty handed. Another option is to chase down some brass/dies and see if someone will spin up some loads for you. I've got plenty of powder, primers, and bullets. Good luck!

Me and a buddy just picked up a 6.5 PRC. Can't find brass. Have found projectiles. Ammo is very little and_or the prices are crazy stupid.
