And probably the equally elusive Speer Gold Dot 120gr.Call me old fashion but I think a good ole lead tip factory load would do wonders for the Grendel. Something like the unobtainable federal fusion.

107 TMKs are available at a few places, like Powder Valley. And for much less than the trade that you were proposing...I have a handful of Grendels but rarely use them. I'd give my left nut to try the 107 TMK. From a deer/bear/elk's perspective, that would be the Lucifer of lead.
A bit of an old post but came across it… can you say more? Good terminal performance? The 95 VMax shoots very well in my rifle. We’ve killed a few deer with the 95 gr VMax out of mine. No complaints. Also tried the 123 sst but couldn’t get them to fly out of my set up.

what recipe for the controlled chaos? I'm about to load some for whitetail out to 250 yrdsI used 110 controlled chaos on a mule deer buck lat 200 yds last season. I could not have been more impressed. He went 10 yards, the main bullet passed through as well as all petals in a perfect circle around the main shank. Ive also loaded 100 ttsx but haven shot anything yet. Groups are good with both and PPV
It’s been a couple years but I’ve killed several white tails with the 107tmk. They were all between 200-270yds. Don’t remember getting exits but never had to blood trail one cause they dropped pretty much on the spot. Those little bullets hit hard!I have a handful of Grendels but rarely use them. I used 29.4 gr of Ramshot TAC with CCI 450 primers and new starline brass. A light crimp. Seated about 0.050 off lands.what recipe for the controlled chaos? I'm about to load some for whitetail out to 250 yrds
Thank you, I have TAC and varget but with the cost of the bullets I didn't want to spend a lot of time testing powders.I used 29.4 gr of Ramshot TAC with CCI 450 primers and new starline brass. A light crimp. Seated about 0.050 off lands.
16” AR-15 supressed
Velo average was around 2480. Pretty sure I could have gotten to 2500 without pressure. I think varget and benchmark would be good powders to consider.
Good luck. Let us know how it goes.Thank you, I have TAC and varget but with the cost of the bullets I didn't want to spend a lot of time testing powders.
28.5 gr of TAC (29 is listed as max on Lehigh website) gives me 2450 fps from my howa mini 20" barrel using 110 controlled chaos bullets from 6.5 grendel. Very good accuracy at 100 yrds, but I didn't test them further. Will load up some more to use for the season.Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

What are you hunting?90gr Speer TNT and 90gr Nosler Varmageddon.
I use VV N133 to load them and it's amazing.
Hogs, coyotes, bobcats. The occasional coon. What are you hunting?

Standard lung shots? How was the blood trail on the sst?I have shot Mule deer with both the 123gr SST and the ELD-M. From a 16” AR carbine. Both performed the same terminally. I have had 123gr SST’s exit. I have never got an exit from a 123gr ELD-M. We have also used the 120gr Ballistic tip to shoot deer out to 500 yards, to see how they performed. Of course this was done with a good bolt rifle present, if needed. We never had to use the back up rifle. Killed a spike bull at 411 yards with the 120 BT.
Yes. We tried it. It worked but that was enough at distance. We did prove just holes in lungs kill game. There isn’t much energy or velocity left at those distances. The lungs at 400 and 500 yards just had a hole straight through. Just slight discoloration on the lung about the size of a 50 cent piece on the entrance and exit. Most of the bleeding was internal and the animal’s surprisingly went down fairly quick.Standard lung shots? How was the blood trail on the sst?

Good deer forsure! I keep telling myself I’m going to start shooting the ole high shoulder “light switch” shot but I haven’t been able to make myself try it yet. My issues on eldm have been under 100 yards except for a white tail at 200+ that didn’t lose a drop of blood with no exit.Yes. We tried it. It worked but that was enough at distance. 300 yards and under there is substantial damage and allot of blood loss on the exits. Under 300 yards I have had exits while hunting Mule deer with AR’s . Using rifles chambered in. 6mm-Grendel (95gr SST), 6mm x 6.8 SPC (90gr Accubond) and 6.8 SPC(120gr SST).
I got a complete pass through and a bang/flop on this buck with a 16” 6.8 SPC , factory Hornady 120gr SST load at 270’ish yards.
