I've had good luck at 44 or so grains with 130 grain bullets and around 43 grains with 140 grain bullets.

No help on lrx, but 42 gains r16 with 135 berger classics, 2860. Tested at 500 just under 1 inch, very easy banging steel at 1000 yesterday

Also no help with the LRX but I'm pushing a 142 ABLR at 2760 with 42.5 of RL16 from a 22in barrel. Sub MOA .553

Yes only 4 shots, i often test with 4.
The 5 different charges group avg was right at 2.5(from memory) with 2 slight wide shots, seat depth had already been worked on and these were small charge changes in final load work

Thanks for all the input guys. I loaded some .005 off of the lands in new Lapua small rifle primer brass with BR-4 primers. I just shot at rocks because it was a gale wind day. I got really consistent velocities around 3020FPS with 43.8-44.2 grains of RL 16 out of my 24” barreled Tikka.

I’m going to load up some more in that range and see how they shoot.

I loaded the LRX for a Savage Axis in 6.5 CM, we went with Peterson Small Primer Brass and BR-4s. I did a full length size in a Redding bushing die with a .290 bushing and a Redding .010” shell holder. Seated the bullets at .050” off the lands and landed on 41.5 gr of H4350. This $400 gun/scope combo shoots 1/4 MOA at 100 yds all day long.

That’s awesome, what velocities were you getting?

If remember correctly it was in the mid 2700's, however the SD was about 4.5 and the ES was 11(admittedly it was a 5 shot group so those numbers would likely change over a large amount of firings).

It was a pretty awesome day, and very rewarding for me as a reloader. I did all of the prep work on a Redding T7 turret press with a Redding Type S FL Bushing die and then used the Frankford Arsenal M-Press with a Whidden Gunworks seating die, runout was usually between .001 and .002". A few where the needle barely moved.

I loaded the LRX for a 6.5 CM recently. Ended up using 41.5 grains of H-4350, kept it at .050” off the lands and its shooting sub half MOA at 100. SD’s are single digit.

Out of the 18" barrel or 22"? I am getting ready to start working up some loads for my 18" fieldcraft. Muzzle velocity with factory hornady 143 eldx is around 2550 FPS, definitely hoping to bring that up a good bit and will be using H4350 to start at least. Also waiting on a tax stamp for my first suppressor that should be arriving within the next month or so.

All this talk of success with H4350 and RL16/17 has me pumped to try a new batch of LRX test loads.

I originally tested the LRX with Superformance, as recommended by Hornady, and found amazing accuracy but a very narrow node, which I found not acceptable for hunting. That was a handful of years ago and I hadn't circled back until now. Superformance also sucks to work with...I'm used to extruded powder.

Going to work up with H4350 as that is what I use for my ELD-X load, but do have some RL as a backup. Now to find the time to finish the batch!

I was 2720 fps with 147s in my 18" Barrett Fieldcraft when I had it. That was with a suppressor as well.

Wow, that is smokin'!

I get roughly 2500-2550 with 143 ELD-X out of my 18" barrel w/ can. Was hoping for more, but seems to be roughly in line with others and no pressure signs, so I can't really complain.

I just loaded up some 127 LRX with Norma Brass. Trying both WLRP and BR2 primers. Using Reloder 16 this time. Haven't shot these yet, hopefully will get good velocities and groups. Started @ 42.0, 42.2, 42.4, 42.6. And huge jump, roughly 0.120" jump. COAL = 2.730", BTO = 2.142"

I didn't get much luck with H4350. 42.5gr H4350 gets me ~2725fps from my 22" Remington 700 (Factory Barrel). Groups were within 1.5" @ 92M.
