8 pt whitetail, Ruger American Predator, 6.5 Creedmoorm, SS 10x MQ, 130 gr. TMK, 2167 fps impact velocity, 300 + yd.

Took out the back of the lungs and liver. No exit and he made it only 15 yards.
Took it directly to the processor and didn’t get any pics of the damage inside.

Big body mule deer. 6.5 creed 140 eldm. 2730 FPS MV. 240 yard shot. 2 shots. First one a touch high behind the shoulder. Dropped on impact, shredded part of the back strap. Tried to pick his head up facing me so i put one in his chest. Found the first bullet hanging in the offside skin. Found second shot towards the hind on the offside, went completely through the chest. Photos shown are the 2 bullets found and the exit from the first shot. Did not investigate the vitals but imagine judging by the exit that they were mush.

Her first elk. 280 yards, 1 shot, quartering away. Bullet entered behind the last rib, and stopped behind the offside front shoulder. Took out liver and lungs. 6.5cm, 140eldm, 2660fps MV. The other 10 elk just stood there for another 10 minutes... they had no idea what happened... suppressor was worth every ounce.

140 ELDM at 2350'ish on rutting mulie. Quartering to shot that hit higher than I wanted. Went through onside scap, 6-7 ribs and busted the spine a bit too. Onside lung was soup, offside lung hit with lots of bone fragments. Dropped and kicked for about 5 seconds. Less worried about "splashing on shoulders" now ha

The hunting is still good in SC.

I saw 2 mature bucks on this hunt as well as 2 spikes, 1 forkie, and 5 does (maybe 7, hard to keep everyone straight when they go in and out of cover)

The bucks in my AO are typically atypical. This buck was 139 lbs live weight. 143grn ELD-X, dead right there.

The doe is 98 lbs. 143gr ELD-X, in perfect broadside, out the offside shoulder. She ran around 50 yards into cover and then ran a short distance and died on the trail about 25 yards into cover. I've shot about 10 deer with this bullet and this is the first time I've had a great blood trail.

The other mature buck was wild looking. Heavier than the photographed deer, with 24" spread but no tines, just clusters of little spikes. He came out on the other side of the field as this deer, around 325 yards which is still out of my comfort zone. I intend to work on long range shooting in this off season and signed up for an advanced marksmanship class.

Whitetail doe 6.5 creed 130 TMK 60 yard shot Impact velocity: 2800 ish Deer ran 20 yards and piled up, entrance behind shoulder and exit out center of offside shoulder. First deer with the tmk but so far I am impressed. I was surprised to see an exit at this range/ impact velocity (not that I needed one), along with good internal damage. I mean if a match bullet was going to “fail” it would have been at this range and I thought it did it’s job well.

And here’s sheep number 7 with the 6.5 CM.

18” Benchmark 1:7.5 twist carbon barrel
G9 Defense 113 Long Range Hunter ammunition.
194 yards, quartered to me. 10,000 ft elevation. Impact velocity of 2550 fps

Shot entered right front chest. The petals from this monolothic bullet created a wide wound cavity that completely blew apart one of the lungs, clipped the other and sent a couple petals into the heart. The shank of the bullet continued to exit out the offside side of the ram.

Dropped and died right there.

Anyone using the 130 ELDM? How does it perform compared to the 140, 147 and 143 ELDX?

I used it as a target bullet all summer so I could save the 130 TMK for hunting and was very pleased with how it shoots. No results on game but I suspect it would do well. If so, then I’d likely save the 130TMK for elk and use the ELDM for deer/antelope.

The SSTs I shoot leave my 22” Tikka .260 barrel at 2830ish FPS. I’ve killed probably 45-50 deer and elk under 50 yards with that bullet at that speed. Longest “tracking” job so far was 150 yards. What about the SST, in your experience, has made it “too fragile”?

How many big game animals have you killed at close range with the SST at higher speeds? Curious to see if there is a speed “threshold” where they become less lethal.
I have shot a good bit of SST in a .270 at animals from wallaby to red stags. Closest was a very large red stag well over 200kg at 40m. Went down like a sack of potatoes. At 400m+ on deer same effect. Shoot them out to 800m on animals and they always work. Superperformance ammo is accurate and fast for factory with honest 3150fps at muzzle in 270 on my chrono and drop tables at range.

Mate shoots 123gr SST in his 260 which is also his client rifle for guiding. Velocity about 2900fps. The bullets work equally well on deer to tahr with no issues.

I've shot some deer with 140gr ELDM in 6.5 swede and they don't hit the ground as fast as with the 270 with the SST. I suspect the 123gr SST in the swede would be a good combo based on the 260 data I've heard and seen.

The 40m shot with the 270 had me concerned due to reputation of SST as being too frangible at high velocity, but I can't say I've ever had a bad experience with them.

Shot placement for me usually is shoulder or hilar zone. Animals hit there do not run.

Whitetail buck 6.5CM 180 yards 147gr eld-m.

I shot him broadside, he ran about 80 yards (parallel to me), and I shot him again. The projectile was recovered from the offside rear quarter, having traveled through about 3/4 of the animal.

Not a great picture, but...

Bull elk 170 yards 6.5CM 147 eld-m.

The first shot hit him at the rib/spine junction, a second shot through the shoulder finished him.

You can see the first impact at the top. I believe the second entrance was removed when I took the rib off to get the heart.

Coagulated blood at the bottom was dumped out of the chest cavity.

Latest…
- 130gr Berger AR hybrid @ 2551fps
- Whitetail doe @ 150y
- Dropped where it stood, had 1 or 2 little pieces of the bullet separate but great results overall
