Going off this thread a bit. Noob here who is bumming a rugar 30-06 off is buddy with this new scope. If 6.5 CM are out of favor but still cool I’d be interested in buying one. What brands are top of mind? Same with 300 WM. What price range would get me a good used one of these? I’m looking for something “kinda flashy”

If there's reduced demand it's because everyone already has one.
This.
I don't think 6.5 Creed is going away.
It's just the laws of supply and demand.
Not to insult the OP, but some rifles regardless of chambering are going to have stronger secondary market appeal than others.
It feels like you could sell a Barret Fieldcraft in 32-20 right now for full price.

Can get a new stainless tikka 6.5 creedmoor for $740ish. They are selling just the actions for that and cant keep them in stock.

That’s a good looking rig! People complain with 6.5s in general bc they can pass through the animal without knocking it down too well, correct? I’m still interested

I like mine. drawing from the few gun shops I have passed through in these last couple of months, they are all stuffed to the gills with gun inventory and ammo is starting to catch up. Specific to creed ammo, I bet there was a lot of people clamoring for it during the shortage but unlike a 223 nobody is buying 1000 round Cases of creed So it is accumulating.

It seems to knock things over pretty well.

Gun shops all have their niche. I have had gun shop owners turn down a gun or offer me short money many times because THEY dont have that customer…and I was able to sell that gun for a fair price at a different shop or online. Just because a given shop doesnt have that customer, it absolutely does not mean that customer isnt out there somewhere else.

Please do yourself a favor and read the 6.5 kill thread and the scope testing subforum before buying something.
I would but my name isn’t “researchingstuff” 😂🤓 jk, I’ll give her a deep dive. As a non-gun nutt I seem to struggle about giving a damn until I have a tag in my hands and I can’t hit what im shooting at. Working to overcome this hindrance

I have been attempting to get rid of a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle and have taken it to all the local gun shops. They are all telling me the same thing which is that there is ZERO demand for those rifles and ammo. I cannot find anyone to give me CLOSE to what it should be worth. Local shelves are absolutely stuffed with 6.5 CM ammo.

Is this what you guys are seeing locally as well?
Glad to hear there is ammo around, we need to get some for my wife’s rifle

I assume that they haven’t lost popularity, but there are tons of them out there, and probably not most people’s favorite rifle.

I’m still a fan, and still my 6.5 of choice if I were to pick. I have yet to be disappointed in their performance on critters, and have been impressed a couple times. I think anything that grows in popularity that fast will have a small crash at some point… a lot of people wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and then they realized they were not in fact magic, just a soft shooting rifle with plenty of capability, but they are slow (relatively) and are what they are.

I feel like it’s almost identical to a 7-08 in practical terms, and I have always liked that cartridge too, but they aren’t very exciting, just easy to shoot well and hell on critters

It's because they can buy that same gun brand new wholesale for less than you want for it. And make more money.
This has less to do with the value they assigned to my gun and the reality of tons of rifles and ammo on the shelves locally that are not moving
