I’m buying a new rifle this spring and am considering the new Seekins Element. From my understanding, I can essentially get two different calibers by switching out the barrel on their new system. Am I understanding this right?

I am wanting a new rifle and have been saving up for one. My shot distance will be under 500yds for game. (I have read and listened to a bunch of info on smaller calibers)

1.) Could I buy a 6.5 cm, then get a 6 creedmore barrel and simply swap it out?

2.) I don’t believe I could buy a 6.5 prc, then get a 6cm barrel or could I?

3.)Finally, if I can’t do the 6.5 prc < 6 cm, am I missing much getting a 6.5 cm instead of a 6.5 prc?

1. You could do that because the bolt face is the same you would just need to swap your barrels.
2. You would have to swap barrel and bolt or bolt face. The 6.5 and 6CM are .473 bolt face while the 6.5prc is .540.
3. Imo, no you’re not missing out on that much going with the Creedmoor instead of the PRC.

6.5CM and 6CM are very similar. What are you wanting one to do that the other won’t?

I guess nothing, I’m just wanting a new rifle and will hold myself to 500 or less. I was just more wondering if I could have two calibers by merely switching out barrels.

Nothing wrong with wanting fun toys! If you want two barrels, 6.5CM/22CM might offer more contrast than 6.5CM/6CM. Personally, I’d just get a 6CM and shoot the hell out out of it.

So I take it you’d hunt most critters with it too?

If PH3s are like PH2s, they'll have different magazines and bottom metal for 6.5 PRC than they do creedmoors. I assume the 3.1" PRC mags are not ideal for creedmoor but I have not tried them. I'm pretty sure the seekins have swapable bolt heads so you could go from standard to magnum bolt faces with a head swap?

I agree though, i'd just go with one of the creedmoors and shoot the piss out of it and not waste your time bouncing back and forth.

Thanks for the response. Seekins is delayed with their new lineups from the sounds of it. I am converting a Tikka 308 over to a 6 cm
