6.5 CM 130 TMK factory ammo?

Do any manufactures load the 6.5 130 TMK that I can buy off the shelf? I know you can get the 77 TMK through boutique ammo companies, but just wondering if any of the bigger manufacturers load the 130.

I cut my 6.5 CM down to 18” and have been planning on shooting the 140. ELD-M. However, with the reduced barrel length I thought it may be a good idea to try the 130 TMK for some additional velocity. I have the equipment to reload, but I just don’t have the time to do it right now.

Browning loaded some around 2020, but I have not seen any since. I believe Federal also had some branded as "law enforcement" around the same time.

No that's pretty steep for 6.5CM. I've been giving some thought to cutting down one of my creedmoors as well but figured I'd still shoot the 140 bergers or 143 eld x.

I chopped my Tikka to 18” and was shooting factory 147’s initially. Low 2500fps I think, got me out to 500ish yards still for 1800fps threshold.

Good to know. Maybe I’ll stick with the 140s and not worry about the velocity loss.

This is the way.

Unless you plan to shoot it to 600+ yards, you will have plenty of velocity just shooting the factory Hornady 140 ELDM loads, or the Berger 140 EH or Hybrid Target loads, or the Federal load with the 135 grain Berger Hybrid Hunters.
Lapua also makes a load using the 136 grain OTM bullet but it isn't cheap. The plus side is that you get superior brass for use if you do start reloading or if you want to sell it.

Game changer (TGK) is not the same as the TMK and would be less ideal in a low velocity application.

I’d look at 130 OTM or 135 classic hunter ammo options as well.

130 TMK does seem pretty optimal for a shorty 6.5 though.

This thread gives all the explanation you could need.

I have tried the 130 tmk and have had no luck getting them to group. The hornady 140 eldm and 143 eldx are what I have stuck with. both of these are very good thru my rifle. I have changed from h4350 to superformance and like the results also.

If you still have some of those 130 TMKs and are not going to use them, shoot me a PM and I will take them off your hands.

My 18” 6.5 cm sends the factory 130gr TGK @~2750, so yeah, planning on getting some TMK or equivalent-ish weight class to replicate those velocities.

(Looks like StaBALL will get the job done)
F if I can figure out pasting a working forum link 😆
Search “Real world data for an 18" bolt action 6.5 Creedmoor?”

Would you mind sharing your superperformance load?
