I think you'll be fine with either. If you can get/use a bushing die that is my preferred choice but certainly not mandatory to make accurate ammo.

Thanks for info. Yeah tikka actions are actually all long actions. They just change the bolt stop and magazine for short action cartridges. So I’m just getting a long action mag and bolt stop and I’m good to go.

Why do you wish you went 7.5 or 7?

I like to shoot mono bullets like Hammers or Badlands and you need a faster twist to run those.

Are you getting a long action with magnum bolt face or a long action for the magazine length? I just want to make sure I'm understanding you correctly because a 6.5-284 uses a standard bolt face, not a magnum.

No just getting a long action magazine and bolt stop. The tikka I currently have has a standard bolt face.
