6.5 129gr LRAB

Anybody shooting these bullets in a 6.5? I will be working up a load for a 6.5 SLR just curious whereabouts they like to be in relation to the lands? 2.891" COAL with this bullet and my chamber just touches the lands.

I have only shot them in factory 6.5x284-- they shot great for me but I know folks that are reloading with them have been having accuracy issues in larger calibers.

The LRAB's either like to be RIGHT on the lands (.001-.0025" off), or WAY off the lands. Like .150-.250" off the lands. Oddly enough my 28 Nosler reamer is throated for the 195 Berger's but shoots factory 160LRAB nosler ammo great which I think is .160" off the lands.

So far I have not had luck with LRAB's in anything I have tried them in. That's only two rifles though... haha But still, no good for me. Tried off the lands out to .150". Was also getting pretty bad spreads and deviations with a powder and primer combo that always worked very well for me with bergers. I know different bullets but that was my experience. This was pretty early on when they were still fairly new to the market.

Well I tested 5 different loads with the 129 and they went .4 to .6". For comparison I started the night with a 140 hybrid group that shot .2". I was getting no pressure at 2865fps so I may push it some more, but they appeared to open up as the charge increased. Either way, I'll take .5 moa right out of the gates.

Found the load tonight. 44.4 grains h4350, 2863 fps, shot "good enough" at 100 yds. Best group with this rifle so far. Time to bang some steel



It has come to my attention I need a lesson in measuring groups. I've been out of the rifle game too long

I load the 129s in my 6.5 grendel. I have had decent results with them so far but I am limited in COAL by mag length.
