Is a 50mm scope too big to go in most gun scabbards on a horseback hunt? I'm not going anywhere now but I was just thinking a 50mm might be too big for most outfitters scabbards. The scope i used to buy was Leupold vx6 3-18-44 but the reticle I prefer is Boone and Crockett which only comes in a giant 50mm objective 3-18-50! You can get the 44mm objective but not in B&C reticle. I like to use MOA most of the time and dial it in but sometimes you need to shoot quickly and B&C is good for that.

If you want the bc reticle get the vx5hd 3-15X 44. You'll never miss the extra 3x plus the windage is capped on the vx5hd. Win win

I did an elk hunt last year, we were packed in with horses. No troubles with any our 50 & 56mm scopes and the scabbards
