50 yard zero for .223 Pros and Use Case

So I've been shooting the Mk12 which I topped with the Credo 2-10x36. Planning on shooting mainly with the reticle and only dialing when necessary.

Shooting the 75bthp (proclaimed .395bc) at 2760fps.

Zeroing at 50 yards is keeping me at 1 inch (not moa) of quick drop out to 500. 1-1/3" at 400 technically. 4mph gun for wind.

So inch high at 100
Inch low at 200
1 mil at 300 (1 inch high)
2 mils at 400 (1-1/3 inch high)
3 mils at 500, etc for those not familiar with quick drop charts.

Just wanted to see others opinion on a 50 vs 100 yard zero for the .223 and why you zero the way you do. This is working well for my use case.

Otherwise I zero at 100 and dial for MPBZ or the actual range.

I do the 50/200yd zero on all of my 223/556 rifles, regardless of the optic they wear. Its makes it easy and consistent for use. It has worked for me for both target and hunting.

I’ve run 50 and 100yd zeros. As long as you know your dope, you will be fine with either. I usually run 50 yd zeros on red dots and 100 on scoped guns. People make way too much of a big deal on zeros.

That’s pretty slick.
I’ve used 50 yd zeros with red dots, and 100 yd zeros with mil magnifyied optics. But those quick drops make a ton of sense to me.
