What pack do you guys recommend for backcountry Wilderness 5-7 day hunts? Hiking in on foot with everything needed for the entirety of the hunt.

Thanks for the info. What size frame do you use?I have an EXO K4 5000 and I am very happy with it. I previously had the K3 4800. I have packed out a couple super heavy loads in order to beat weather windows or wildfires and the K3 performed well in those instances. did have issues with the hip belt and squeaking when loaded on the K3 (not good for archery). Exo took care of me and helped me into a K4. The K4 solved both of the mentioned issues. Good customer support and good products.
I went with the 23.5" frame but I am only 5'6 They had a good video about sizing that I watched to make my decision. Thanks for the info. What size frame do you use?
Have you tried a quilt in freezing temperatures? Looking at the Ketabatic Flex 5 degree..I do a 12 day backcountry deer hunt in September using a K3 4800 and that works great. For late October/November 5-7 day hunts I bump up to the 6400 bag. I have bulkier clothing and transition from a quilt to a sleeping bag. The larger bag makes packing everything in easier and not as cramped.
Yes, I have a Katabatic 22 that I have used into the teens. It is plenty warm down to that temp however when it gets windy and you get a breeze through the tent I prefer the full bag. I can put my puffy pants and coat on which solves the problem but I just don’t prefer that. The 5 degree quilt will be very warm on top of you, but you will likely want a foam pad under an inflatable mattress if used down to that temp. With my full bag (0 degree) I can use it with just an inflatable mattress down to negative temps and be comfortable.Have you tried a quilt in freezing temperatures? I have had Eberlestock packs before and liked them before I got my SG and EXO packs. There is no comparison, the weight difference is significant, even more so when the packs get wet. Both my Eberlestock packs absorbed a decent amount of water weight and they took a lot longer to dry. They were not nearly as comfortable with heavy loads also. Maybe their new packs will be different. All good info, thanks. I’ve looked at Stone and Kifaru, but I’m waiting to see the new Eberlestock frame and packs. I’m 6’ and 205, so I’ll want a larger frame because from the top of my hips to my C7 is about 19 1/2”.
