5.56 ammo in a .223 tikka

I appreciate that. I’m so used to being pleasantly surprised if a factory cartridge is able to attain the box velocity with a 24” barrel that I never expected to exceed it with a 16.1” barrel.

I ordered 600 of those last night. Should be excellent practice ammo at about 70% the price of the ADI.
Can I ask where you ordered from? I want to pick up 500 or so I’m beam scaling my practice rounds right now and it would be nice to just hand load my 77 TMK and shoot these for practice. More time in the woods and away from a bench.

I got it from Sentry Ammo. I found them through AmmoSeek.

I have used them several times in the past and never had any issues.

In my tikka- due to availability I jumped around alittle. Now I just order in large bulk.

My primary is Phantom 77TMK for hunting, AAC and Bonefrog for practice, Bonefrog is better but AAC is good enough for price

My .223 Tikka is an older T3 with a 1:10” twist (the ad listed it as a T3X and I didn’t feel like returning it based on the minor differences) so it doesn’t handle the heavier bullets. While my rifle generally shot decently with several brands (check the range thread if interested), it shot the ADI 69- and 55- and Frontier 62-grain far better than anything else. So I got a thousand ADI 69-, 400 ADI 55-, and 600 Frontier 62-. It hurt my wallet to spend that much at once, but should keep me in business for a while (maybe 20 weeks? Or a bit longer since I won’t go to the range during hunting season.).

Ive got me and two kids wearing mine out. I might pick up some of the frontier Fmj, for the price it looks impressive.

Oddly enough the only POI sight in difference of all my TMK’s is phantom is 1/2” high. Rest essentially have same POI.

77 OTM/ BTHP in Bonefrog and AAC are off by 1/2” either way.

That little tikka just eats
