That's really interesting, you could be right. In the past when Bill has talked about failures he referenced the D6 Ferrules being the weak point. I believe he said the only failures he has seen have been D6 Ferrules bending.

In this case I think you are right, but other outsert systems have other weak points. A regular outsert without a pin will break right behind the outsert... the focos system is easy to bend and split the collars (my least favorite 4mm setup)

I don’t think the IW deep six system is bad, and I would guess that the ferrule is the weak point
