.45 for woods carry. Does bullet type matter at all?

I carry a 10MM & 44 mag with hard cast most of the time. I would carry a 45ACP and might just do that in the coming seasons. I was looking at the BB 255 hard cast. remember you can have 1 handgun with several different loads.
