I was reading the other thread about 4 wheelers and was wondering if anybody has experience with the 4 wheelers that Bass pro shops sells.
They looked good to me, and the price is what caught my eye.
I have never owned one but am wanting to buy.

So what say you guys stay away from them or pull the trigger for one?
The one thing though is I don't know who actually builds them and also thinking about aftermarket for them.

Thanks

I haven't been on one but have looked them over. If I remember correctly the one I saw was a cheap version of Arctic Cat. Some parts even said Arctic Cat on them. I have an 07 400 Arctic Cat, it has a Suzuki engine. Overall it's been a work horse. Heavy duty frame and the engine is reliable.
The newer models don't come close to the build strength of the older ones. They had a lot of engine problems a while ago when they started using their own.
Personally I won't buy anything with the Cabela's or Bass Pro name on it. Seems like everything has went down hill big time.

I'd say they're designed to do just what they did-caught your eye on price! I suspect they'd be ok for general, but not hard use.

I have no experience with the bass pro models, but I have a 1985 Kawasaki that I’m currently rebuilding the top end on. It’s nearly 40 years old and every part I need is still available from my local dealer. Something to think about if you intend to keep it long term.

I know around here, no one will work on them and parts are hard to get. Kinda like the ones Tractor supply sells.

I would most likely stick with the yamaha, suzuki, kawasaki, honda line if it were my money. Low hour/minimal use used units are available and in my area prices are coming back down to earth after a covid boom where all recreation vehicles spiked in price.
