Anybody own a 4 Wheel camper? I have a very nice 25 foot Nash but it’s very big and I’m getting sick of dragging it around. Thinking about downsizing. I’ve owned a lot of campers and most are cheap junk. 4 wheel seems to make a nice product but at a premium for sure. Are they worth it?

I’m very interested in this as well. I’ve been looking for a good deal on the full size short bed model.

I currently use a Kodiak Canvas 10x14 flex bow, but am curious about the slide-in campers.

No experience with them, but was looking at this one as a more budget friendly option.

Also been interested in the 4 Wheel Camper. That Lone Peak Camper looks pretty awesome.

I have a hawk I have had for 7 or 8 years now. Started on a ram 2500 with a 5.7 gasser now on a 23 2500 Duramax. Great little camper. Spend 30-40 nights a year in it. Use it for hunting and towing boat to lake. Can go anywhere and held up to everything I’ve thrown out it. Well built. I sleep and eat in it with not a lot of hanging out. IMO not comparable to a tow behind, different kind of camper. Ideal for me at my time in my life but not for everyone.

I used one for many years. It was great. We took it all over the place and into some tight spots. Awesome for running and gunning. You could pop it up and lower it really quick. Mine was older and came before the lift supports they have now for raising the top. On a diesel truck you hardly knew it was there. I had the large extended bed up top and the winter liner. Liner doesn’t seem like much but it helped a fair amount. If I did it over again I’d get a shell and do a simple build out.

This would be on a diesel 1 ton. Figured it would hardly know it’s there.
I also thought about doing a simple build myself but I need it to be easy to remove as it’s a work truck. Also need something comfy for my ol’ man.

I don't have 4 Wheel Camper, but have a Hallmark which is similar. Nice setup that is easy to get into places. Have heard good things about 4 Wheel Campers.

If you're in a cold climate I'd definitely give the outpost campers a look, they are sips panels and stay toasty. My brother in law and buddy own the shop and build them.

Everything is going to have a hard time living up to a Nash....just know that going in. Nash builds a great product.

Mine was on a 1 ton Dodge. With corner jacks and a cordless drill you can have it off in 10 minutes. It takes a little longer putting it on because it usually takes a bit getting it all lined up. Never had anyone complain about sleeping on the lower convertible couch bed. It was pretty close to a twin size.

I had a friend with one of those Palomino pop ups. It was nice but all the tube mechanisms and stuff for the pop top seemed to add weight and complication. That’s where the 4 Wheel is different. So much simpler.

As a basic shelter it was great. I also used it as a snowboard bum in the winter. Cold yes but fire up the catalytic heater in the morning or evening and it warmed up quick. If you happened to stay where there was electricity a small milk house heater kept it toasty.

I keep threatening to go find an old used one and rebuild it. Kind of miss it.

Does nash build a comparable camper to 4w? Website looks like only rigid ones, did I miss a category? My impression is 4wc have a following because they are very lightweight and low profile compared to others, so they work well in lighter trucks, even down to compact trucks—not so much because they are the nicest.
